  1. I’ve paid for 1 device for 1 person due to cost over a 9 night cruise.

perhaps wrongly I understood it that you get a log in to use and this is not necessarily restricted to 1 phone? Obviously 1 device/user at a time. I was working on the basis that 1 kid could use it for an hour, then log out and allow the other kid to log in using their phone?

    Is that wrong please?

  2. We will be docking from 7-3 in a few weeks time. Given we have excursions booked on later stops we were going to simply combine a visit to town with the cruise port facilities.

Does anyone know when the shops, cafes and other businesses open in PP? I’m assuming we will not rush to get off the boat given the arrival time and will then take a leisurely stroll around town before swimming and seeing the monkeys.

Also, can anyone tell me please whether the pool and lazy river at TB cruise port is heated? It’s can’t stand cold water!

  3. Hi, after some help please. We’re cruising first time with Royal on Explorer and wouldn’t mind trying one of the specialty restaurants. Chops probably appeals most. Problem is, our daughter is 13, but only a small eater and not very adventurous. Do you think there’s any chance Royal would let us pay for her as a child and have her eat off the kids menu obviously?

I  really liked the expedited service at night in the main dining room!  And food was very delicious for the most part!

But two of my favorite dishes were not on the menus on our recent cruise (Explorer of the seas, 9 night 2/09/24 sailing). The menus did not offer the duck a l'orange or lamb chops.  Are these items gone for good or was this just not offered on our cruise?  I will be disappointed if they are no longer offered.

Hi, it would be interesting to hear what you thought the best dishes were in the MDR as we’re on Explorer for 9 nights from 22nd March. 9 nights same as you.

Curious minds (mine 😉) want to know…were any bids successful?  Or is it still too soon to find out?

Don’t know yet. We cruise 4 weeks tomorrow so I don’t think I’ll know for a few weeks yet.

Interestingly we found out today what cabin we’ve been given on the initial booking. In my mind, if they’ve got as far as sorting that, then we’re presumably a step closer to the bids being decided on.

  6. Hi, I’ve seen a few pics of the arcade on the Explorer, but I’d be interested in any feedback on how good it is for a 9 and 13 year old? I’m tempted to pre pay for credit so we get a bonus/discount, but don’t want to waste money if it’s not that well stocked with games?

  7. Hi, after some help please…

Our opportunity to Royal Up on The Explorer of the Seas is now live. There’s the chance to bid for the above upgrade and having looked at the perks, I just wanted to check people’s experience with the perks for this suite type on the EOS or other similar ships. The perks I’m  most interested in are:

The Suite Lounge. Do we get access, am I right in saying there’s complimentary drinks at a certain time every day and if so when? Are kids allowed in there?

Breakfast at Chops. Is this included for guests?

Pool: I don’t think there’s a suite pool on this ship?

To be honest, I’m expected to spend a few dollars every day on alcohol (without warranting the DBP). As such, if I’m getting a few drinks every day in the lounge then I can mentally offset that from the upgrade cost

    thanks in advance

  8. Hi, I’m curious about the fact all adults would have to purchase the deluxe drinks package. If one adult doesn’t drink (or barely drinks), do they really enforce this or can they give you dispensation?

Also, if I order an alcoholic drink at dinner, can I also order a coke at the same time on the package?

  9. Hi,

First Caribbean cruise is now <2 months away so looking forward to it and trying to plan. We’ve booked the above excursion and I’ve noticed:

“Guests have the option to stay in Charlotte Amelie and are then responsible for their own transportation back to the ship”.

I wondered if anyone had any information on where we might be left (town/beach etc) and how long it would then take to get back? We have about 4 hours between the end of the tour and the ship leaving, so will have time to spare.

Also, I’ve assumed kids get life jackets, but could someone confirm this please?

    Thanks

  10. Help needed please…

I like the look of the above for a family of 4, but given it’s quite expensive if booked through RC, I wanted to be sure it will be worth it for a family of 4.

The app lists it as a 3 hour duration, but says it’s an 80 minute round trip. Does this mean that effectively half your time is lost to travel, or do they mean the actual activity is 3 hours + travel time? I assume they include the driving in the 3 hours, but hope not?

If anyone has done this excursion I would be most grateful for feedback. Kids will be 9 & 13 so good ages for this I think.

No. That is the weird part, you still will stand in line. Sometimes the "without" reservation line moves quicker than the "with."

Oh no! I assume our TA would be able to switch us the later sitting despite the fact we’ve already booked?

If we are able to switch for 8pm, are you usually able to get there 15 minutes or so earlier?
