It could also be related to the difficulty in obtaining US passports in a timely manner. Mine expired during COVID when I had no current or near future plans to travel. My renewal application was received on 5/10 with a posted 10-13 week processing time. Apparently they are overloaded and receive upwards of 400,000 passport applications per week.

SDK started following Carribean Visa question

I would greatly appreciate input from board members who have relevant experience or have encountered similar situations. Your guidance would be invaluable. Obviously the concern is family members being turned away when boarding due to any visa discrepancy. The visa requirements for transit Caribbean cruise stops don't appear as immediately obvious to me. My wife is a Thai citizen with a valid Thai passport and valid US Permanent Resident (Green Card) card. We're traveling with family who are US citizens. Our daughter has dual citizenship; however, we are waiting on her US passport renewal, and mine, like many other Americans. We do have our birth certificates as backups; mine is a notarized copy. We're booked on the Sept 12 repositioning cruise leaving from FL and ending in MA. The destination countries websites read that a visa would not be required for cruise passenger from Thailand with a US Permanent Resident card. Ports of call: Grand Cayman- Do I need a visa to enter the Cayman Islands while stopping for the day on my cruise vacation? Yes, see the Transit Visa required countries list. (Thailand is not on the Transit Visa Required list) Aruba, Curacao, Bonaire - If you hold a residence permit for the United States or Canada, you do not need a visa. Bahamas (Cococay)- **U.S. Permanent Residents (Non-citizens)** To enter The Bahamas, U.S. residents who are not citizens need the following documentation:For visits NOT exceeding 30 days:An original Alien Registration Card (Green Card) is required, along with a national passport (passport from country of birth).
