  1. Interesting thread. I just checked to see if I had prepaid gratuity (I hadn't) and learned that they "Vacation Protection Plan" to both passengers. Seems redundant since I also purchased a separate trip insurance policy to cover the whole vacation. Bummer.
  2. First cruise coming up. What's the policy for using the balcony while at sea? Is it allowed? Is it too windy? jp
  3. Is there a way to watchlist sold out excursions? It doesn't appear so on the website.
  4. Never used Lyft or Uber for anything other than food delivery. Can I book one two months out?
  5. I realize this is probably remote, but is anyone aware of a shuttle from Port Canaveral to MCO that includes a stop at Downtown Disney (or similar)? Our flight out doesn't leave until 5:50PM and the thought of spending hours at the airport saddens me. Thoughts? jp
  6. Everything I've booked for my March '23 cruise from the actual cruise to the drink packages to the excursions has been over the phone directly through RC (multiple phone calls). Each time a booked I immediately received an emailed confirmation clearly stating what I purchased and how much I paid. As mentioned above, each excursion and drink package was on a separate receipt.
  7. Sailing in March and interested in the Coco Cay Beach Club. Unfortunately we missed out on the Black Friday deals and the current price is 10% off ($269 pp). Do they tend to sell out, and are there likely to be better discounts in the next couple months? jp
  8. Can anyone confirm the size of the pool towels onboard? The RC towels are 39″ by 67″ and run $28 each. I'm wondering how these compare with the ones provided.
  9. Does RC always dock at the port near the Skyride in St. Thomas?
  10. On Black Friday I booked two excursions for my March '23 cruise. > Skyride on St. Thomas > Maho Beach Plane Spotting on St. Maarten From reading here it sounds like in both cases I can easily manage both on my own and save some money. I booked both through RC mainly because I'm concerned about getting back to the ship on time to re-board. Besides saving money I'm also thinking that both excursions are going to be padded out with "shopping opportunities" that we're not interested in. We've wasted several hours doing the Maui Divers "free shuttle" and don't wish to repeat it on our first cruise. For Maho Beach, the bulk of the big planes seem to land between 3 and 4 in the afternoon. By then the RC excursion will be long gone. Thoughts?
  11. Thanks. I'm an aviation guy so the planes are the main draw. My wife will probably relax in a beach chair and read a book.
  12. We booked the Maho Beach excursion through RCCL at $47 per person. Sounds like we overpaid for what is basically a 35 minute shuttle ride. Would it make sense to cancel that and find our own way to the Beach? I'm just concerned about getting back to the ship on time.
  13. Generally, how much is an Uber from Port Canaveral to MCO? Is it safe to assume the price is the same from MCO to PC?
  14. Is the Wonder of the Seas' pool water saltwater or fresh water? Are the pools heated?
  15. First time cruiser. We booked a cruise for late March, just the wife and I. At the time (3 weeks ago) they were sold out of double-occupancy Ocean Balcony rooms. They did offer us a GTY which we accepted. I've been a little nervous about not really knowing what we would end up with but we wanted an Ocean Balcony. This morning an additional Ocean Balcony room on the 8th floor midship opened. Cancellation? I called and changed from GTY to the selected room. Paid the extra $ and locked it in. One less thing to stress about, I guess. My thinking was that during Spring Break the cruise will be jammed and our GTY assignment could possibly be disappointing. Smart move?
