Booking and payment were at the same time? Or did you book and then make final payment?

Most reps aren't always well versed in policies, but they would see everything related for something like this. They also have checks and balances in place to assist when it comes to repricing and such. I wish it would have worked in your favor but not all policies will be available to everyone.

Yep... I called RC, booked and paid same time. I thought it was simple when  booking  airlines 's tickets: pick the date, time and pay... Done

Does the cruise contract actually state that the final payment deadline turns off the “48 hours from reserving” language?

Not to mention that even if Royal had the better contractual argument (not clear at all to me that they do) it still would be incredibly misleading to put a 48 hour best price guarantee at check out for a booking to which it would not apply, when clearly it is being used to induce booking.

@Ptrg did Royal claim you were outside the 48 hours or that the policy just didn’t apply to your booking?

They claimed me was outside the 48 hrs which actually I wasn't.... Thanks

Here's the full terms and conditions.  I do think Ptrg would qualify based on the program and assuming all other stated facts.

Clearly speaks to 48 hours from reserving.

You purchased your cruise inside of the final payment deadline. there are NO price drops after final payment.

    Period

    End of story

It is not telling me inside or outside of my final payment... It only say we have 48 HOURS for best price guaranty... I wish they should say more clearly on this page on their website. That's my point of view.

I sail in Nov, my final payment was due in Aug. So, if you booked in Sept, you were past the final payment date and therefore none of those policies apply. It is not misleading.

It is first time we booked for cruise ship and we have no ideal about 75/90 days to final payment. So like I discussed above: I called in to shop for prices/rooms on 9/21/2022 , called back next day and make full payment, early in the morning of the 24th , price dropped... Called back then got denied. Please explain when we are able to get either OBC or refund the different... So next time we will get it( maybe not with RC anymore... who know)Thanks in advance

There is no difference in final payment policy between picking your room or letting them pick your room (also known as a Guarantee booking).  You haven't told us when you are sailing so we can't fully answer your question.  If your cruise is already past its final payment due date, then your price is set.  It doesn't matter when or how you booked.

We are going to sail Nov this Year

"find their ways"??  If it was past final payment, then that is policy; no price match.

I called in on the 21st of September to shop for staterooms (from interior to balcony... How it work for pick your own rooms vs their pick it for you. Ect...)so the next day we called back, picked the room we like, and paid for it.. ( on 22nd).. so "their ways" was the 21st was the day we booked??!!! Not on 22nd... For me it was a trick...

We learned this the hard way too - when we booked our sailing for Nov right after labor day we paid in full since the final payment date was pretty much right away (we took advantage of some of the labor day sales) we then saw it drop about $200 after the final payment date and called to see if we could get OBC for the difference but since it was passed the final payment date they wouldn't do it.

So we learned the lesson the hard way - and will probably use a travel agent next time and book more in advance.

We did make full payment then less then 48hrs later, price dropped, we called back but they still find their ways to denied OBC or refund the different....

We booked our cruise as a GTY for a balcony room. My reasoning for this was, we were booking kind of late, you could say last minute booking for a Nov cruise we booked it about 2 weeks ago so the choices of rooms were slim & to choose my own was about $150 -$200 more, which isn't a lot but with so few rooms why spend the extra on that when I can spend it elsewhere.

I think if we had booked months out I would have rather pick my own room with there being more options to select from - or if we were traveling with others and we wanted to be all close together.

My partner is a more seasoned cruiser than I am, he grew up cruise where I have never been - he would rather chose his room because he has more preferences as to where he likes to be on a ship.

So I would say if you are traveling solo or with one other person and just need one room & you don't care where it is than go with GTY option.

If you know you like a certain part of ships or want to be central to elevators or not near certain areas and there is a good selection to chose from than pick your own.

The balcony is not cheap... So if you let them pick your room, it may end up with obstruction Infront of the door... (What I read some reviews online) is it some kind of disappointing, isn't it? Bc we pay lot money for the view...

On Adventure last May and thought the ship was fine. Our problem was cabin location, right next to where they bus dishes they retrieve from room service. As early birds in our room by 10pm, we heard the clanking of dishes until 11pm. I poked my head out once and the crewman doing it said "oh, sorry" then continued on making loud noise after I went back in my room. Guest Services said they'd address it and it was better for one night then back to sounding like we were bunking in the dishwashing area in the galley.

The smell of smoke penetrates up from the casino...some days worse than others. Also forgetting what side of the ship you're on and walking down the pool deck and into the smoking section sucks. I've had these problems on more than one ship in the fleet though.

Overall Adventure was fine for us in 2018 and recently this May. We'd sail her again.

What room number was you stayed? Thanks
