  1. We had Mike Szwajkowski for our sailing on Nav and he was probably one of the best CDs I've ever had.
  2. I know it's something like 22 months away at this point, but thought "Eh, why not?" Looking forward to our first Oasis-class ship, after being almost exclusively on Voyager-class!
  3. We just had this issue with our newest booking. There was only one 3-person balcony room available on the ship, but a TON of 4-person rooms. We just booked it with an imaginary child (so the booking only added the port fees/taxes since it was a kids sail free promotion).
  4. Another vote for Poo-Pourri (and an added courtesy flush to help control the smell)!
  5. Thank you everyone! As I said, it's been a LONG time since we cruised the islands, so my memory is a bit foggy on which island offered what. We plan to cruise every 2 years with the kids (and travel elsewhere on the off years), since we've so far gone in 2023 and 2025. We've officially booked Option 2, so St. Maarten and San Juan it is! It'll be nice to see what they've done with CocoCay, too, as the last time I went there was when it was just beaches and hammocks, way back in 2003.
  6. I'm leaning that way now. I've looked to see how long we'd be in each port, and looked to see how many ships are scheduled to be in port on the same days (as of now, I know it can change in the next 2 years!). It looks like we'd be with Icon at CocoCay on any of the options, so that doesn't change anything. Option 2 has us with Icon at St. Maarten, too, but only one other ship at San Juan.
  7. Looking ahead to booking our 2027 trip. There are 4 options for us to choose from, and I can't choose which one! Hubby and I have been to St. Thomas, St. Martin, and St Kitts, but it's been about 20 years. I've been to Nassau myself, again over 20 years ago. This time we'll be traveling with our 3 kids, who will be 14, 11/12, and 7/8 (the last 2 depend on the dates we sail). All are 7 night sailings on Harmony. Option 1: St Thomas, Nassau, CocoCay Option 2: St Martin, San Juan, CocoCay Option3: St Thomas, Dominican Rep, CocoCay Option 4: St Kitts, San Juan, CocoCay Any input from those who have been to these ports recently? What are your recommended excursions for each port (this might help me decide)?
  8. Does anyone know the max number of passengers allowed on the Whale Watching excursion through RC in Cabo? We’re trying to decide if we want to go through Royal or book our own to get a smaller group size. The cost difference is negligible.
  9. This makes me happy! We're sailing on Navigator in Feb 2025 and I'm really looking forward to comparing it to the un-amplified Adventure that we were on this past January.
  10. I'll speak as a mother to a non-potty trained (now) 4yo. When we went on our cruise this past January, he was an almost-4yo. When we were first registering him for AO, we let them know that he is not potty trained. I had read somewhere that if you let them know, you may have the option of being assigned a phone each time you check them in. With this phone, they can call you if your child needs to be changed. This is exactly what they did for us. Now, I'm not sure if this was because he is mostly non-verbal, but wanted to make sure other parents know that this is a possibility for them, too.
  11. Are you going to be our neighbors in the other 2 bed GS?
  12. One of the things we didn't utilize on our previous suite cruise was the complimentary room service. Our next cruise, we'll have a little bit more space and will be more likely to do so. I do have some questions, though. If you're ordering a meal from the MDR, do they bring all the courses at once? Are they spaced out like they are in the dining room? If they're spaced out, do they come into the cabin to set it up at the dining table, or do we retrieve it from the door and bring it into the cabin ourselves?
  13. I know it's still a L-O-N-G ways away, but might as well start a thread for it. This will be our second family cruise as a family of five. When we sail, the kids will be 12, 10, and 5 (*almost* 6). We wanted to do something super special for my middle's golden birthday, and this was the itinerary I kept coming back to. Then I got lucky and scored one of the 2br GS at a ridiculously low price, which they thankfully honored. This will be my first non-Caribbean cruise, so I'm quite excited!
  14. Yup, this was the one I booked. I looked tonight, and it's currently sitting at $12,400 for the same suite. Yup, Navigator. I'm very thankful the famous intern loaded those prices. They honored it for me, thank goodness. This was Navigator. This'll actually be my 2nd time on Navigator, with the first being way back in 2002.
  15. So, I've been tentatively planning on Feb 2025 for our next family cruise. I've been keeping an eye on what itineraries are available, which ones sounded interesting, and most importantly, pricing. We're a family of 5, so our options are a bit more limited if we want to stay in one cabin. Well, at work one night last week, I happened across a sailing that looked interesting, with an itinerary that none of us have been on before. I went to check the price of a similar room that we had on our last cruise, and what do I see? A 2BR Grand Suite for *less* than a standard balcony room? What?!? I refreshed the page and checked a few more times, and yup! Same price every time. So I sent a message to my TA and she put a hold on it while I talked to hubby. We decided to go for it. Out of curiosity, I checked the prices tonight. It's now listed at $11k+ for a family of 4!! I still can't believe I snagged it for such an amazing price.
  16. When looking at decks 8 or 9 for a 2 bedroom suite on a voyager class ship, is one preferred over another? Does deck 8 have a larger balcony than deck 9? Anything else I'm not thinking of?
  17. We're going to book it with a refundable deposit. This way the room is secured, but when more itineraries are released, I can hop over to a better one if I wish.
  18. We just sailed from there last month. We also stayed the night before and took a Lyft to the terminal that morning. The drop-off was right outside the doors. Once we entered, we went up an escalator and were at the check-in part. The longest walk was from once you cleared check-in to the boarding ramp.
  19. What would you do? I'm wanting to take the family on a cruise in Feb 2025 for my daughter's golden birthday. Of course, there's only a handful of available itineraries at this point since it's so far out. There's one that would work okay for us, and has our chosen cabin available (only 2 on this ship). Would you go ahead and book it, or wait to see what other itineraries are added?
  20. It was great! My kids did wonderfully on their first ever cruise, even the 3 year old! The last day was fun, passing through a cold front, so a bit of rocking on the ship. The best part was the first night at dinner, when we surprised the kids with Grandma being on the cruise, too! She snuck up behind the older 2 as I had them posing for pictures, and told them to turn around. My daughter screamed and about fell over her chair.
  21. Thank you! We’re going to be lugging around a car seat, which was my main reason for asking.
  22. I see from some posts here that if you have the Key, you have the option to drop of your luggage for them to deliver to your stateroom, so you aren't lugging it around while waiting for your room to be ready. Is there something similar for suite guests, too?
  23. We’re sailing out of Galveston. If it matters, we’ll be disembarking with the suite passengers.
  24. Another piggybacker and first time living the suite life here... Sailing on Adventure next week in a Panoramic View Suite, and I have a couple questions. When does concierge usually reach out via email? For the free room service, do you still pay gratuity on your order? Can you order the RC specialty drinks in the suite lounge (like Rum Punch, Pineapple Guava Sangria)?
  25. We're sailing next week on Adventure, and I have a question about times and arranging transportation back to the airport. If we're going to be disembarking at 8:15am, what would be a good time to tell the transport service to pick us up at the port? I was thinking 9am, but I want to make sure we'll have time to clear customs and get our bags. eta: if it matters, we'll be a group of 2 adults and 3 kids (ages 3, 7, 10)
