  1. This makes me happy! We're sailing on Navigator in Feb 2025 and I'm really looking forward to comparing it to the un-amplified Adventure that we were on this past January.
  2. I'll speak as a mother to a non-potty trained (now) 4yo. When we went on our cruise this past January, he was an almost-4yo. When we were first registering him for AO, we let them know that he is not potty trained. I had read somewhere that if you let them know, you may have the option of being assigned a phone each time you check them in. With this phone, they can call you if your child needs to be changed. This is exactly what they did for us. Now, I'm not sure if this was because he is mostly non-verbal, but wanted to make sure other parents know that this is a possibility for them, too.
  3. Are you going to be our neighbors in the other 2 bed GS?
  4. One of the things we didn't utilize on our previous suite cruise was the complimentary room service. Our next cruise, we'll have a little bit more space and will be more likely to do so. I do have some questions, though. If you're ordering a meal from the MDR, do they bring all the courses at once? Are they spaced out like they are in the dining room? If they're spaced out, do they come into the cabin to set it up at the dining table, or do we retrieve it from the door and bring it into the cabin ourselves?
  5. I know it's still a L-O-N-G ways away, but might as well start a thread for it. This will be our second family cruise as a family of five. When we sail, the kids will be 12, 10, and 5 (*almost* 6). We wanted to do something super special for my middle's golden birthday, and this was the itinerary I kept coming back to. Then I got lucky and scored one of the 2br GS at a ridiculously low price, which they thankfully honored. This will be my first non-Caribbean cruise, so I'm quite excited!
  6. Yup, this was the one I booked. I looked tonight, and it's currently sitting at $12,400 for the same suite. Yup, Navigator. I'm very thankful the famous intern loaded those prices. They honored it for me, thank goodness. This was Navigator. This'll actually be my 2nd time on Navigator, with the first being way back in 2002.
  7. So, I've been tentatively planning on Feb 2025 for our next family cruise. I've been keeping an eye on what itineraries are available, which ones sounded interesting, and most importantly, pricing. We're a family of 5, so our options are a bit more limited if we want to stay in one cabin. Well, at work one night last week, I happened across a sailing that looked interesting, with an itinerary that none of us have been on before. I went to check the price of a similar room that we had on our last cruise, and what do I see? A 2BR Grand Suite for *less* than a standard balcony room? What?!? I refreshed the page and checked a few more times, and yup! Same price every time. So I sent a message to my TA and she put a hold on it while I talked to hubby. We decided to go for it. Out of curiosity, I checked the prices tonight. It's now listed at $11k+ for a family of 4!! I still can't believe I snagged it for such an amazing price.
  8. When looking at decks 8 or 9 for a 2 bedroom suite on a voyager class ship, is one preferred over another? Does deck 8 have a larger balcony than deck 9? Anything else I'm not thinking of?
  9. We're going to book it with a refundable deposit. This way the room is secured, but when more itineraries are released, I can hop over to a better one if I wish.
  10. We just sailed from there last month. We also stayed the night before and took a Lyft to the terminal that morning. The drop-off was right outside the doors. Once we entered, we went up an escalator and were at the check-in part. The longest walk was from once you cleared check-in to the boarding ramp.
  11. What would you do? I'm wanting to take the family on a cruise in Feb 2025 for my daughter's golden birthday. Of course, there's only a handful of available itineraries at this point since it's so far out. There's one that would work okay for us, and has our chosen cabin available (only 2 on this ship). Would you go ahead and book it, or wait to see what other itineraries are added?
  12. It was great! My kids did wonderfully on their first ever cruise, even the 3 year old! The last day was fun, passing through a cold front, so a bit of rocking on the ship. The best part was the first night at dinner, when we surprised the kids with Grandma being on the cruise, too! She snuck up behind the older 2 as I had them posing for pictures, and told them to turn around. My daughter screamed and about fell over her chair.
  13. Thank you! We’re going to be lugging around a car seat, which was my main reason for asking.
  14. I see from some posts here that if you have the Key, you have the option to drop of your luggage for them to deliver to your stateroom, so you aren't lugging it around while waiting for your room to be ready. Is there something similar for suite guests, too?
  15. We’re sailing out of Galveston. If it matters, we’ll be disembarking with the suite passengers.
  16. Another piggybacker and first time living the suite life here... Sailing on Adventure next week in a Panoramic View Suite, and I have a couple questions. When does concierge usually reach out via email? For the free room service, do you still pay gratuity on your order? Can you order the RC specialty drinks in the suite lounge (like Rum Punch, Pineapple Guava Sangria)?
  17. We're sailing next week on Adventure, and I have a question about times and arranging transportation back to the airport. If we're going to be disembarking at 8:15am, what would be a good time to tell the transport service to pick us up at the port? I was thinking 9am, but I want to make sure we'll have time to clear customs and get our bags. eta: if it matters, we'll be a group of 2 adults and 3 kids (ages 3, 7, 10)
  18. I don't know how I missed your post! It's nice to know that at least someone from here will be on the ship with us. The kids are getting excited for the cruise, too. They're 10, 7, and 3. Of course the 3yo doesn't really know what's going on, but the other two are super stoked. It's been 14 years since our last cruise for hubby and I, so we're unbelievably excited, too.
  19. Thank you! I know passports would be easier, but the extra $735 for all five of us was a bit much to add onto the trip expense, so we're using birth certificates for the trip. Thank you for the idea of the embassy!
  20. I'm working on putting together all of our copies/documents for our upcoming cruise. So far I have the following: -Certified copies of birth certificates for each family member, marriage license for myself. -Photocopies of each document. -Confirmation printouts for Hotels, Flights, Excursion (Native Choice), Transportation (Airport to Terminal and back), all packages/items purchased for the cruise -Travel insurance policy and card I'll be adding copies of the adults' drivers licenses, health insurance cards, and credit cards. Can you think of anything else I'll need?
  21. We're sailing from Galveston, too, in January. I'm lucky that I work night shift, so it's pretty likely that I'll be at a computer and wide awake at the stroke of midnight, lol.
  22. Check-in for my upcoming cruise is going to be opening in about a month. I work a super crazy schedule, so I'd like to set an alarm for myself to check-in as early as possible. So my question is what time does check-in usually open on that date? At midnight? 7am EST? Another time?
  23. I have a question regarding the dolphin encounter at Chankanaab. On their excursion page, they have a timeframe listed of 3h 30min. Is there a time limit on how long you can spend at the park after the actual dolphin encounter is completed? Can we spend all of our port time there?
  24. Trivia, game shows, trivia, bingo, trivia, people watching, and trivia. Anyone on Adventure 1/9/23, I'll happily join your trivia team! Another fountain of useless knowledge here. This will be my first time with my kids, so I'm sure our activities will be vastly different this time!
  25. I can't remember where, but I recently saw somewhere that only those in Grand Suite and higher level suites have access to the Suite Lounge on Adventure. Is this true? We're going to be in one of the Panoramic Ocean View Suites, if it matters. Also, what kind of refreshments are available in the suite lounge? Would it be necessary to get the coffee card if we're going to have access to the Suite Lounge?
