I've been meaning to introduce myself for several months now so here goes,,, My name is Eric I'm 46 and live in the Austin area. I'm a newly minted Diamond member as of February. My next cruise that is currently booked is on Adventure of the seas in Jan '18, but I will probably be on several before that one.

Just inspected the ship on Royals web site. They show Portofino where Chops once was located,

I went on Adventure the last sailing out of Miami in April 2014, before she went to Europe for the summer and fall. I know there was a Chops then because I ate there with my brother. We sailed to St Marten, San Juan, and Haiti. I think they had the digital wayfinders, the large screen by the pool, but I don't believe there was a Flowrider yet. eric reeves

I sailed on Adventure April 2014 and dined at Chops. Great petit filet. I really like the layout of the Voyager class and have booked another sailing on her for jan 2018. eric reeves

The lowest price on grand suites I have ever seen.

Booked a grand suite for the first time for Jan 2018 on adventure. If you ever wanted a to stay in a suite and are wiling to fly to san juan, now is the time to go for it.

Just curios what other people think. I didn't find that many good deals. I booked one good one on Liberty and saw a few others. Most years you can find great deals out of Florida. Not so much this year. eric

Taking the western caribbean to belize on Liberty Feb 14 out of Galveston. Just wondering what peoples experiences were like on Starfish Island. eric reeves

I stayed once at the Doubletree by Hilton in downtown Miami the night before a cruise. The hotel was fine, the location was great. It is very close to both the airport and the port of Miami. It didn't take more than 15 minutes to get from airport to hotel, or hotel to cruise port( not during rush hour of course). Very easy. eric reeves

Thanks for all the input. I plan on continuing to cruise Royal because i enjoy it so much.

I just came back from a 5 night on Independence that stopped in jamaica and haiti. Now i need only 3 points to become a Diamond member. With the changes at Royal, should i be optimistic, excited, or indifferent for the coming year?

Anyone went on this excursion yet. I think it's relatively new. I am considering this one on upcoming November 30 cruise on Independence. eric

I was on Adventure in April 2014 just before it saiied to europe for the summer. It had just been refurbed. I would be suprised if they are doing anything else this soon.

They seemed fine. No issues. The beach they took us to was spectactular. It was serene, well kept, had restrooms, and a litte local place that served great jerk chicken. It is no longer offered by royal carribean or chukka.

Booked that one in 2012 i think? I believe it went to Burwood beach close to the cruise terminal. eric
