  1. I do appreciate the suggestions, but this was more of an FYI. The advice about tipping in front of the pit boss and making sure they are tracking are both good. This was a compted trip from last years play. I will probably be on 2 more before March 31 when this years evaluation ends, so I don’t need 2500 points all on one cruise to hit prime again for next year.

The more $’s gambled the more points. I played next to at least 2 individuals who dropped $6000 plus at the blackjack table. I’m positive they already received status for next year. On the other hand, I played all week, probably close to 35 hours on a free trip, and ended up $50 on the positive side in the casino for a weeks worth of entertainment.

  2. Just returned last Sunday from a 7 night on Liberty. I played blackjack only the first 5 nights,  at least 5 hours every night,, usually the $15 dollar table, but occasionally the 10. Playing mostly the minimum, with a sporadic 20, 30:, and even a couple of $50 bets mixed in. Before gambling on the six day, I visited the casino host, to see what sort of points that amounted to: 540. I hope  this is helpful to the curious out there.

Hi! I'm on your cruise - We chartered a private catamaran for just our group through Good Times Catamaran charters. We are on the smaller catamaran, but they may be doing tours on their other (larger) catamaran Good Times Too. They came highly recommended through a friend.

I haven't looked too closely at the cruise planner, but I'm sure there are similar tours through the cruise line as well.

Thanks for the ideas. Doing the catamaran / train in St Kitts and the galleon in St Lucia. Hoping for something different.

I’ve heard of that one - unfortunately, we will be in SXM on a Sunday and I do know they are closed on Sundays.

Plan on taking a taxi over to Orient beach. I had an excellent lunch right there on th beach last time I was there( red snapper I believe.)

This past Christmas we had Adventure booked with a very good deal on an Owner's Suite.  When I started pricing airfare to SJ I cancelled the cruise.  We have flown to SJ 4 times and it was never that high !  The southern Caribbean is wonderful and I love those islands...but I'm not going to pay the price they want for airfare to SJ.  It's outrageous.

I found those deals on the suites and posted them. I booked one as well, but ran into the same situation as you. The flights from both Austin and Dfw to Sju where in the $700 and up range. What I ended up doing was rebooking in December, but only when I could immediately book a decent priced flight.

SOLD! We're planning on doing something similar in Marigot - locating a French cafe for a slice of baguette and a coffee.

We were thinking about hanging around Phillipsburg and walking back to the ship ourselves rather than getting dropped off - is there a fair amount of beachfront bars in walking distance that we could plant ourselves at for an hour or so before going back? If so, any recommendations? It's our first time to SXM!

Several bars on the boardwalk. I didn't go in any of those, so I can't vouch for the food and drinks there. One that stands out in my memory, only for the name, was the "Blue Bitch Bar."

  7. I've seen several of these in the last few weeks. These were prices listed for single occupancy after selecting the number of travelers

And room type. Some were inside cabins for 7 nights at $295 before taxes. Others were balcony or junior suites for $195. In all cases the price jumped dramatically after selecting the specific room number and attempting to complete

    the booking.

So it's not just you. I've seen some of these. It has to be a glitch of some sort.

  8. I received the email and it is a legitimate offer.  We are already completely booked so I am not able to take advantage of it but if I had the time I probably would have gone.  I did call and ask for a price quote.  For the "free" oceanview room, it would have cost $464.40 for both of us for the 11-11 6 day.(Veteran's Day week)

Yes, it is a small, old ship....but it would have been nice to take a very inexpensive cruise if I could have.  From all accounts, they have largely solved most of the "issues" that they had with this ship when it first came back into the fleet.

I'm considering it. It's a good offer, but there's flight, baggage, and parking costs since I'm in the Austin area.
