I found a cheaper price and called. They just changed rate and I still have the same room. I got the new rate. it took all of 3 minutes. I got an email confirming changes before I got off the phone. Call and see what they say. You can just keep it the same. Lisa.

We live in Woodstock, Vermont so I understand tourists and crowds. Thanks for the tip about crowd size, I never go into the village during peak foliage or Christmas week. Too much!! It would be important that we watch how many ships are in port. I also spend time in Portland Maine, which is part of the New England foliage route for cruise lines. It is a real boon for the economy, can be quite crowded. It you do ever go, some of the best breweries in the nation are right there. I had not thought about the actual trip, return or one way, but I can say that this will probably be the only time we would cruise in Alaska. We may take the Canadian railway first, if I can convince my husband to ride the rails. He worked as a conductor for CSX for 30 years, so not sure.

Hello all While watching the tragedy in Paris, I cannot help to wonder about the security in and around cruise ships. Since I have not cruised in the last 15 years, I wonder what you have seen, does it ever cross your mind, will you be more careful? Do the cruise lines take security seriously? not jus t passengers, but luggage, personnel? I will not cancel my cruise, ever. Just wanted to know. Thanks Lisa

Thanks for the info. Resorts for a day had 4 options, some expensive, some reasonable, I will look at your other recommendations. I know my cruise is 5 months away, but am so excited. Keeps me smiling on these cold wet days in Vermont.

My husband and I are cruising southern Caribbean on the adventure of the seas April 9th. We are pretty laid back and have a crazy house, we crave quiet and calm. wanted suggestions for beach clubs where we can rent chairs, have a place for lunch and of course bathrooms. Any ideas?

My husband and I are cruising April 9th on adventure of the seas. We are arriving a day early. We want to take time and explore San juan. When reading the posts, everyone talks about arriving early to beat the crowds. How crowded is it for us to arrive mid to late afternoon? Should we check in early and leave the ship?
