Royal Beach Club-any updates?
Midwest Cruiser replied to Jill's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
Good catch on the Number of guests. Finally found that in the EIA. And yes in that EIA it highlights the per person cost to enter. Actually interesting to look over the EIA page 1-3 is where the majority of the info is. https://www.royalcaribbeangroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/RC-2020-12-15-FINAL-Environmental-Impact-Assessment-Rev-1.pdf -
Royal Beach Club-any updates?
Midwest Cruiser replied to Jill's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
I would be willing to bet that the access will be free like Coco Cay but yes the cabanas, some pools, something like "Coco Beach Club" will have a cost to them. I guess I'm all for that charge for individuals that can and will pay it to have that experience/access. That generates revenue and will help offset for others. When I compared Useful acreage of PDCC to the new Beach club, it will be roughly 4 acres less of useful space then PDCC. That does make it significant but not everyone will go off the ship or to the Beach Club. I know the day of PDCC on our Call with Oasis and Brilliance last week, you could still reserve a couple $3000 cabanas, that is telling me that the New is starting to wear off and the prices "should" decline slightly especially if that trend continues. Time will tell and revenue will dictate prices like always. -
Just got back last Sunday from Miami and Oasis. We stayed at the Downtown Hilton Miami this time. Hotel was nice, amenities were good, elevators were interesting in how they functioned, pool was great and felt like bath water for warmth. Also have stayed at the Marriott Biscayne bay which is fully remodeled except for the pool(which is under construction now).

Question. How do I see messages while on my phone on the blog? Is there an app or am I missing something? thank you

We remember the crew always wiping stuff down when we were on Oasis and Symphony Pre 2020.

First time Cruising with RC 2024
Midwest Cruiser replied to family#1's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Welcome to Royal cruising! We booked what we wanted when reservations opened up 45 days out. Then gave our genie what we wanted also. -
Keep cruising. This is life just about back to pre2020. The cleaning of the tables would be disappointing but not seeing anything Vid related makes me extremely happy. I would bet my year’s salary that everyone has had the Vid already and now getting it is like the seasonal flu. Take precautions you see fit to your personal health and live life to its fullest. Our family lost to many members to cancer and suddenly passing the last 3 years that were deprived of being able to take vacations, because of unfounded irrational fears of the Vid. We are trying to make the most of life knowing any day may be the last. Hope you all Iive life like there will be no tomorrow and enjoy your next cruise. 6 day to Miami, 8 days Until Oasis!

Still strict with check in time?
Midwest Cruiser replied to melski94's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
The cabana isn't the same if you can not get into one vs a chair. That is called premium. You are literally guaranteed reservations, you just have to change if it doesn't fit your schedule for the 1st 2 nights. Then you can book other restaurants to your convenience. If you can not get into restaurants with the unlimited, that does constitute false advertising then. A courtesy reservation will be made for Day 1 or 2 of your sailing The only way you truly get Premium and not booking anything yourself is with the Genie. -

You seem to like to selectively think and chose what is premium. You are getting premium when you buy in advanced, you don't get premium if you wait to purchase a cabana at PDCC the day of and it is sold out/or higher in price Vs in the Planner and you actually get the cabana, you don't get to call it premium if you wait to purchase the same shore excursion the day of and it is sold out/or higher in price Vs in the Planner, etc.... All you are doing is paying a "premium price" onboard and getting the same treatment on board. So the UDP doesn't guarantee you the first chance at reservations??? I don't care about the time I eat within reason. -

That last statement contradicted your whole argument. -

I won't die on this hill, But it is a premium service. You purchase the package ahead of time in the Cruise planner. Yes, you can achieve a discounted price if you are persistent enough to check in and capture a sale. At time of purchase, individuals "should" be allowed to select time of dining. The non premium service would be individuals that want to dine at all the Upcharge restaurants, that purchase on the ship or individually, should then have the next available times when they board the ship. It is what it is, but saying it isn't premium is nonsensical. -

Definitely will give a good review of our experience. May even try to live blog it on here. See how ambitious I get. -
Oceanview vs Virtual Balcony

Ah thought I was missing something there, and think I read the original post to fast. -
Genie Response time
Midwest Cruiser replied to Midwest Cruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Sailing with you guys in 13 days! I'm not really anxious, more so curious if there was a normal time frame. Think I'm on the fence right now about having a Genie, like another thread had(I'm a planner and live a pretty simple life, and don't know how it will be with someone waiting on you at every second) looking forward to the room and all. Figured we would see them boarding day, just wanted to get on the same page for boarding time, we always want to be on board as early as physically possible. -
Good Afternoon, Anyone have a delayed response time with their Genie leading up to the Cruise? I fully understand they are serving the guests that they have onboard as we speak, But we emailed her on Friday and are patiently waiting yet to hear a response.

Oceanview vs Virtual Balcony
Midwest Cruiser replied to PL8SWPR's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Is it a Port hole or actual balcony? If actual balcony it's an absolute no brainer to get the access to fresh air and actual view! -
Port of Miami - is Oasis always facing forwards?!
Midwest Cruiser replied to Bazza's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
That's awesome. Was wondering if they had information as to what side they dock on. Fingers crossed we get to do the sail to downtown-turntable-the out to sea. If I'm reading the location information correctly PST is port side tie up SST is starboard side tie up. -
Yeah the amount of weeks pregnant matters, but I believe that is expressly noted when booking the cruise that one can not cruise if more than 23 weeks pregnant. Yeah would suck to be the Bean counter for this type of information. Much better things they could be improving or keeping track of.
-
Was just confusing as to Matts response. Think Royal could just simplify that and just ask the last question. Being pregnant hasn't changed from before the restart so that really doesn't need to be on there.
-
What? It was a legitimate question as to Matts response that if you mark "Yes" to anything on the Health questionnaire you would be denied. I guess he could have clarified that if you answered Yes to the last question you would be denied. Wouldn't think you would be denied for answering Yes or No to the 1st 2 questions, 3 and 4 answering Yes would probably get you a denial to board. That seemed logical.

Nassau Failed Cruisers??
Midwest Cruiser replied to Midwest Cruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
Found this hack from somewhere, but if you have google maps on your phone or Google account, make sure you are over the area you want to save, but you simply go to the Circle icon on the right side of your Search here bar in google maps on your phone. Click it, select offline maps, Then, select your own map option at the top of the screen. When the map populates zoom to the extent over Nassau you want. You will then have the map to use on you phone when in port.
