  1. It's been a roller coaster for us. We've had to cancel two cruises over the past year and reschedule another. Hoping this itinerary sticks. Lol. Since we're less than 90 days away from this one, I'd like to think it'll come to fruition. Anyone else out there on this sailing?
  2. Traveling on our first B2B cruises next spring. The midway point will be Vancouver. We'd like to book an excursion in Vancouver but all of the options have airport drop-off included. Obviously, we're not going to the airport. Does anyone know if there be excursion options for those getting back on the ship? Thx.
  3. These questions might seem to have obvious answers for some, but my husband and I will be doing our first B2B cruising next spring and I'm not sure what to expect. 1. Do we have to complete online check-in through the app for both legs of the itinerary or only the first? 2. Do we have to disembark with everyone else and then reboard for the second leg? 3. If we have to disembark, are we allowed to head directly back to our cabin when we reboard or wait until everyone is cleared to enter cabins in the afternoon? Thanks for the help everyone!
  4. If the cruise line cancels, insurance doesn't play into it. They will offer choices of refund, future cruise credit, different itinerary, etc. If I have to cancel for any reason, it applies. Keep in mind - at least for RC - if you haven't paid your full fare yet AND you have a non-refundable deposit, you will still lose your deposit. If you've paid your full fare, you get everything back, including the deposit. This is why I always get refundable deposit as well. The last cruise I had to cancel wasn't paid in full so we lost our $500 deposit. That's a huge chunk of change. Having the refundable deposit would've only increased our total cruise cost by less than $300 so we wouldn't have been out quite so much in the end.
  5. After having to cancel 2 cruises over the course of 18 months, I learned my lesson. I *always* get travel insurance and I *always* do refundable deposits.
  6. Looking forward to meeting others who are booked on this cruise out of New Orleans.
  7. One of our group will have a long, white beard. I've got very short gray/white hair. My husband is thin and nearly bald. Not sure about the rest. I'm sure you'll find us.
  8. I should have posted this as a general comment instead of as a response to one post: A couple of us from a different message board are planning to meet in the Schooner Bar at 3:00 on our first full sea day. Come on over and join us!

  10. This makes me happy. I'm a teacher and I teach summer classes. I'd much rather be able to engage with my students live if I can - even if it's only a couple of times during the course of the cruise. Thanks!
  11. I'll be on Liberty in June and will need to stay connected for a number of reasons. The old system was impossible for zoom meetings. Is Starlink any better or should I plan to do everything asynchronously again?
  12. All of this info helps a lot. Appreciate the input. I'll look at both ways and see what works best. I have a feeling, the pre-purchase will probably be the way to go given that it's a longer cruise and I need to stay connected for some critical reasons.
  13. I just made it to Diamond status. Whew! According to the C&A benefits list, Diamond members are eligible for one free day of internet service onboard. How does that work? When I go to purchase ahead of time through the planner, it shows me the rate for the duration of the cruise. Would there be a credit applied once I get on the ship or is there some way to apply it beforehand?
  14. We're relative newbies as well, but happy to ratcheting up those numbers over the next few years.
  15. I'm curious about this as well.
  16. I don't care what the poll says, I'll never set foot on a Carnival cruise. Ever.
  17. The older I get, the less it bothers me to scooch by with a polite "Excuse me" as I move past.
  18. Not too many things get under my skin, but on our last cruise the folks in the cabin next door sat out on their balcony for hours at a time having long and repeated conversations on speaker phone with various friends and family. It made sitting out on our own balcony almost impossible. Even inside our cabin with the sliding door closed, we could still hear their conversations clearly. We'd never experienced anything like that before. Hopefully it won't happen again.
  19. Just booked this itinerary and hoping to meet others booked on this same cruise. We are Amy & Frank from Georgia.
  20. And once again, Europe goes on hold. Lol. An important family function has dictated that we switch up our scheduling for this summer. Someday we'll make it to Europe. Leaving roll call open for those who still want to connect for this cruise.
  21. Our online cruise planner doesn't have any excursions listed for Key West. Is anyone else seeing options for Key West or are they just not listed yet? It seems odd since we are only about 90 days out that there shouldn't be anything offered yet.
  22. Just booked this second leg of a B2B Alaska cruise. Looking forward to meeting others!
