  1. the suite class on Edge is what I would like to check out. I think thats a big difference along with food quality
  2. Interested to know who cruises with only their carry on luggage? And how you go about doing so. thx.
  3. As a territory of the United States, Puerto Rico's 3.2 million residents are U.S. citizens. However, while subject to U.S. federal laws, island-based Puerto Ricans can't vote in presidential elections and lack voting representation in Congress. As a U.S. territory, it is neither a state nor an independent country.
  4. This is a challenge I am willing to try, and convince my wife. I think a lot of us can agree that a lot of the stuff we pack, we never wear. I think this goes mostly for women. Men can say, " all I need is a swim suit, T-shit, one pair of sandals, one pair of shoes, one nice shirt, one pair of pants, underwear and a toiletry bag for personal hygiene. Ive met people who do this , and they dont give a darn about formal nights, and changing clothes every single day. If you need something extra, then buy it. Aside from that, there are the benefits, of no chance of losing luggage, no wait at turnstile, Everything becomes quicker. What say you?
  5. yes, this is true. When the Lounge coffee is inoperable, I get a specialty coffee comped.
  6. I would suggest that you ask the bartenders, cruise directors etc about that.
  7. There are experienced, not so experienced and newbies . Thx for the summary. Not necessary.
  8. Well, you seem to have it all summed up. Drink, knock yourself out. thx.
  9. excellent take on CK! Cant agree more. I like CK, because the service fast and the food is prepared to order... meaning HOT! You dont always get that in the main dining room. Enjoy! ps, my wife and I always order one extra entree to share.
  10. Click bait? I have nothing to gain by getting followers in here. Nothing. Matt's opinion on seeing more drunken adults than misbehaving children was the issue. Is that click bait? I suggest you put me on block and do not follow me... thx
  11. Ive cruised enough and sat in enough hot tubs on board and pools and bars to witness the absurd amount of drinks people order with the plan. One guy was up to 21 drinks on my last cruise. I think there needs to be a cut off point. I have to disagree with you.,
  12. umm people will not be inclined to drink as much. When you have to pay for each drink, that will change, they will drink less and become less annoying in their drunkeness .
  13. Seems its a common occurrence to experience intoxicated cruisers aboard . They can become loud, obnoxious, annoying, angry, and get involved in fights. Personally I think this is due to the offering of the Unlimited Drink Plan. People simply want to take liberties and drink as much as they possibly can. Then come the consequences . Time to stop this plan or change it?
  14. There seems to be a lot of hype on the new Icon of the Seas. Bloggers, vloggers youtube influencers and the author/moderator of this blog make statements like they cant wait to sail on it and no doubt will either be invited or make a reservation on this ship come this Wednesday Oct 25 when bookings begin. What many people fail to realize is that these first cruises are a "shake down" cruise. Not everything will run smoothly. It just won't , so dont expect it to. Not every thing will be open. Staff are new to the ship and still in learning mode. Shows, performers, last minute rehearsals, are all in test mode. Dinner reservations, wait times, room service will all be a challenge. Oh you might meet some famous people, top cruise line execs, and get to try out some new stuff., and of course you get the bragging rights that you were one of the first people to be on a inaugural voyage. For me the cons outweighs the pros. I can wait. I will wait.
  15. This can be true. Ive experienced obnoxious, annoying adults who are intoxicated with their "unlimited drink plan" They paid for it and by golly, they are going to take full advantage of it. So perhaps its time for Royal to either stop offering this plan or changing it? As far as kids go, you have to admit, there are going to be a lot more with this amusement park at sea. Being more affordable than Disney cruise ships and offering more, and sailing out of Florida, just watch.
  16. The videos and detailed attractions are quite clear to me. This is Disney World at Sea,(without the characters of course) An amusement park at sea. Expect Families and tons of kids. TONS. Not that is bad, but it is what it is. Take it or leave it.
  17. With the features and amenities on this ship, its sure to attract more families with kids, LOTS of kids IMO. This is more like Disney World at sea..more attractions, rides, venues than the actual Disney cruise ships that cost much more. Expect tons of kids, long line ups, and kids running up and down the hallways like never before. Bank on it, Mr. philanthropist super chat.
  18. Well, there are pros and cons with boarding early. Firstly, only people of special status get to board early, and early only means the time they begin boarding usually around 10:30 am. Special status applies to top tier Crown and Anchor members such as Pinnacle, Diamond Plus. Then you have people who have booked a suite, and then there is the "Key" which you must pay for in advance. So arriving at 9:00am means you could be waiting for 2 or more hours in line at the doors. If its cold outside, its not fun, trust me Ive been there done that. There is also the risk of delays, for many reasons..weather, fueling, etc , so there is some anxiety with this possibility . There is your first con. Will you be able to go directly to your state room boarding early? In most cases, no. So this means you have to walk around the ship with your winter clothes (if its that season) and even you carry on luggage. If its hot, you may want to change your clothes, but if all that is in your luggage, you may have to wait until it is delivered to your cabin door. (packing a swim suit in your carry on is advisable along with important documents and anything else that is crucial for your travel ie medications etc.) Now the pros> I mostly book suites so I do go early. Many times the suite is already cleaned and I have moved into it prior to the standard time of 1-2:pm. The doors may be closed at all the lobby sections with access to the hallways, but I usually open them and have a peak to see if the cabin is ready. Less line ups for dining at the buffet and there places is a bonus, hardly anybody in the pool, solarium, bistro, or other venues. Not experiencing jammed in lines at or in the elevators, and being able to go to guest services before the long line ups begin is a bonus. Booking shows with the concierge, dinner times and excursions with less people is a bonus too. The day is longer and you actually get a full first day in rather than arriving late and feeling like the day is almost done. Early is good, if everything goes smoothly.

  20. You will never avoid kids, and I would gather to say that many people think exactly like you do. I would like to see the stats on occupancy from one month to the next.
  21. You know as much as anybody else at this point. Its not going to sail until Jan 2024. Looking at all the water park features, you can bet your life there will be TONS of kids. Sure there will be adult only spots....but my guess is that those areas will be crammed int too. 7,600 guests!
  22. this is news to me. I thought it must be a return flight . I will look into this. thx
  23. yup, when I called to confirm 11:05 am they rejected it and pushed me forward to 4:30pm
