Here’s the current vaccination rates. NZ is getting there ,about 80% but the islands won’t be open unless something drastic happens in the next 5 months. My guess is if the islands aren’t open as most of Quantum’s cruises go there.Quantum will probably go to Singapore for the season. Ovation could be floating of the US west coast again??? Now we know why Radiance was redeployed.

I emailed our friend at RC in Sydney, I won’t name him but I hope you know who I’m talking about. I asked about Spectrum coming to Sydney instead of Shanghai from July to October. He said noumea , vanuatu and NZ are closed to cruise ships. Until these ports are open Australia is not a viable market for our ships. The size of our ships and the ports that can be accessed without these ports in operation would make it unworkable. So I understand why they pulled Radiance out and it sounds like the coming season is in jeopardy if NZ and the islands aren’t open.

Radiance was pretty heavily booked just before they canceled it . The week before some friends asked about going on 2 of the cruises we where on and I had a look at what cabins there where. No suites and only about 40 balconies. May be our government was going to put restrictions on the ships and RC didn’t want to have to much exposure to risk. Maybe Radiance didn’t have the medical facilities? Having Ovation and Radiance float around for 6 months must have hurt.

That’s a good question and you are right about them blaming U.S. air crew and visitors. Anything is possible with the clowns running this place. I would still like to know the reason for Royal pulling Radiance out . There was not announcement or reason just a new advertising campaign of WOW 2 Quantum class.

I don’t know to be honest, I believe foreign passport holders where going to be allowed to cruise out of Singapore. Its strange how there are no ships of any brand in Singapore from July to October

Don’t feel guilty about being dirty on RC .The way they pulled radiance out of Oz. There hasn’t been any announcement and no one I know has received a email from RC yet. Only After reading about it on here and Cruise Critic ,I called my agent. And then the fun continues Plus we are still get cruise planner emails for canceled cruises. You are right about their smoke and mirrors,they are selling Shanghai from July to October. No one in their right mind will send a ship to Shanghai.

I’ve been thinking of a cruise on spectrum out of Singapore around July . But it has a 3 months absence from Singapore in July,August,September and most of October. Any ideas where it goes?

I still believe Enchantment home ported in Sydney is a underkill. A small ship like that is better suited to smaller ports . I’m sure it’s a cover for something else.

Some of those islands where pretty overwhelmed,Mare used to hire a lot of private vans to shuttle passengers. What you say does add up ,the big ships aren’t calling into there anymore. Its interesting that voyager is still allowed. There’s rumours that voyager has be swapped in the Baltic for serenade. I think I would prefer Voyager to enchantment next season if it happens.

How are you going with the canceled Radiance cruises . I have a group which I booked through a agent and we are just totally devastated. All the planning for years,gone down the drain. We had a Serenade cruise to tassie booked 3 years ago it was moved to ovation,then Radiance and now trying to move it back to Ovation. They where all suites but there next to nothing available . The agent and RC are all pretty none respondent.

I believe it’s from the start of this year,cruise ships with a capacity of more that 3,500 (I don’t know if that’s passengers or all up ) are ban from French Polynesia full stop. From what I believe Quantum class usually has about 4,500 passengers and about 1,000 crew. I’m still amazed they are advertising Tahiti on the trans pacific . Thats clearly false advertising as the big ships are ban from there.

We are talking about the ANZ governments,they do a lot of things that are unreasonable.

Sydney is going to introduce compulsory shore power like California and ships will have to use low emissions fuel. It will be in 2 years. So a big shake up for our cruise industry and another sign for Icon.

We had 2 grand suites on radiance to tassie in October and are trying to move the 4 of us into a sky loft on Ovation for a similar cruise. See how we go???

I couldn’t agree more. But the biggest problem is we are used to it and think `she’ll be right mate’ These clowns are power mad and we don’t care.

My agent said there’s no replacement for Radiance. Royal is hoping to move everyone to next season on enchantment.
