How low can a human being go ? Almost 3 years away from RC . Im booked on P&O Australia Pacific Explorer, on the 7th June. It is a suite and it’s free but the humiliation.

9 nights on the Phone,(mostly on hold )talking to someone who doesn’t know what you are talking about and probably doesn’t care. Trying to work out your FCC and L&S not to mention OBC but most important your C&A discounts.

I think I will go on a different tangent. BIG GAV said they can’t access some NSW ports in the coming season and if the islands aren’t open Australia isn’t viable. I think the problem is that Eden has a cap on cruise ships at 60 a year. ‘From what I can see the cap has already been reached and if the islands aren’t open there is not enough ports for Quantam and ovation to operate . It’s really a crazy idea because Eden is a tiny,tiny little town . At the moment they won’t dock Quantum class there ,technically it can dock Quantum but RC will tender anything bigger than voyager or solstice.

Interesting, I think before the pandemic Ovation and radiance where some of the best revenue ships. Australia and Alaska. Apparently vanuatu is going to open it’s boarders but not for cruise ships just yet. Vanauatu health has vila vaccination rate at 90% of adults ,some hope! The rest of the country isn’t so promising.

Anything has happened over the last couple of years. Next time there’s a pandemic,I’m not going so don’t invite me.

I suppose voyager ,solstice and all the other brands ship have been doing the NZ fiords for years. Oasis is best suited to a tropical climate but I wouldn’t care as long as the bar is open.

How did that one work out? You aren’t in politics are you twangster? LOL We will have to see what ICON looks like,something cross between Quantam and Oasis would be interesting. Oassis would be nice in ANZ but down in the southern ocean the weather can get cold. One year in Milford sound we got sleet on Christmas Day (the hight of summer) .Tasmania isn’t much better.

There’s speculation that icon class will be a all weather ship because it’s debuting in the UK and then NYC just before Christmas. If so It would be more suitable for the South Island of NZ.

That’s very likely because the islands vaccination rates aren’t moving. I wish I knew for sure ,would try to find some reasonable air fares to the US.

Maybe if they put bionic bar inside North Star in might be as interesting as rising tide.

They still hype North Star and bionic bar , I think think they are the biggest waste of space I’ve ever seen.

Thanks I will look it up. I asked Gavin Smith about some packages for Australians. Fly,stay a cruise.He said it’s a possibility,Singapore tourism was looking at it. I will chase it up.

Here’s the current vaccination rates. NZ is getting there ,about 80% but the islands won’t be open unless something drastic happens in the next 5 months. My guess is if the islands aren’t open as most of Quantum’s cruises go there.Quantum will probably go to Singapore for the season. Ovation could be floating of the US west coast again??? Now we know why Radiance was redeployed.

I emailed our friend at RC in Sydney, I won’t name him but I hope you know who I’m talking about. I asked about Spectrum coming to Sydney instead of Shanghai from July to October. He said noumea , vanuatu and NZ are closed to cruise ships. Until these ports are open Australia is not a viable market for our ships. The size of our ships and the ports that can be accessed without these ports in operation would make it unworkable. So I understand why they pulled Radiance out and it sounds like the coming season is in jeopardy if NZ and the islands aren’t open.

Radiance was pretty heavily booked just before they canceled it . The week before some friends asked about going on 2 of the cruises we where on and I had a look at what cabins there where. No suites and only about 40 balconies. May be our government was going to put restrictions on the ships and RC didn’t want to have to much exposure to risk. Maybe Radiance didn’t have the medical facilities? Having Ovation and Radiance float around for 6 months must have hurt.

That’s a good question and you are right about them blaming U.S. air crew and visitors. Anything is possible with the clowns running this place. I would still like to know the reason for Royal pulling Radiance out . There was not announcement or reason just a new advertising campaign of WOW 2 Quantum class.

I don’t know to be honest, I believe foreign passport holders where going to be allowed to cruise out of Singapore. Its strange how there are no ships of any brand in Singapore from July to October

Don’t feel guilty about being dirty on RC .The way they pulled radiance out of Oz. There hasn’t been any announcement and no one I know has received a email from RC yet. Only After reading about it on here and Cruise Critic ,I called my agent. And then the fun continues Plus we are still get cruise planner emails for canceled cruises. You are right about their smoke and mirrors,they are selling Shanghai from July to October. No one in their right mind will send a ship to Shanghai.

I’ve been thinking of a cruise on spectrum out of Singapore around July . But it has a 3 months absence from Singapore in July,August,September and most of October. Any ideas where it goes?
