You got that right. I went ahead and booked one with a next cruise certificate and when I looked at the paperwork later, I noticed a deposit due amount of $700 due a week from now. I thought the whole idea of next cruise was to use less risk with a $200 deposit. Anyways, I called and first person said since its a 12 nite cruise, it needs more deposit. Second person said don't worry about it, it just showed up because the booking may have gone thru a different number. Very confusing. I got a good deal I don't want to lose but also don't want to plop down another $700 if that is the case. Guess I will call back again and try for a better answer.

Does anyone know if you can add the trade in value from the annual tier club royal comp cruise to an existing reservation before the 90 day final payment window?
-
Anyone know if an instant rewards from Royal could be used on a Celebrity cruise?
thx

I don't see why not. And then I am assuming you would just pay the land portion............?

The weather here has been bonkers this year. We're currently sweltering in temperatures of over 30°C which is way warmer than it should be for the time of year. So, as @Biaggio says, there's no way to know what the weather will be like a year from now. Late October/early November are often lovely, with lots of sunshine but not overly hot, so ideal for sightseeing. That said, there's plenty to do indoors in Lisbon if the weather does decide to be unfriendly so it would be a pity to write off what looks like a potentially fabulous trip purely based on that basis.
Agreed. I always wanted to go see southern Portugal but my understanding is alot of it may shutdown around that time of year. But I'm not sure.

It’s possible, we are scheduled to do it October 26, 2024 Port Canaveral to Lisbon, then November 10th Barcelona back to Port Canaveral. A rare opportunity so we jumped on it. A few days between cruises allows us to do laundry and do some sightseeing over there.
I am still looking at this. I wasn't thrilled by the weather in portugal this time of year.

Our recent experience on Anthem and first as D+.
We booked chops precruise for second night for one person. Once onboard, we went to chops and the manager understood the BOGO and added my wife to the reservation.
Not sure if we were supposed to book in advance but in this case it worked.

Thanks . That helps. I was just confused if i used a refundable deposit in advance if it would end up costing more in the end result vs. getting a nonrefundable deposit. So in my estimation then, it seems it is a safer and equal bet to get a refundable deposit. I think.
Yes, the tier certificate to be applied before final payment is due.
When I click on the refundable deposit it shows it to cost $387 but then shows a deposit of $500. So I am gathering the total costs of the cruise goes up with the refundable deposit, even though the deposit seems to stay the same. So wouldn't it make sense to do the refundable just in case the certificate isn't accepted?

I guess i am still confused. If it's a refundable deposit , the cost of the cruise goes up. Once the 2024 tier certificate is applied would the ultimate cost of the cruise be the same as a non refundable deposit?

yes, that's what I meant the annual free cruise with prime. Any thoughts on a refundable vs. a nonrefundable deposit? If I do the refundable deposit and follow through with the cruise and the free coupon, am I losing out on the extra deposit in the end?
-
Just trying to confirm, if I buy a refundable cruise ticket say a year out..........can i use the annual comped certificate from crown and anchor as long as its before the 90 day final payment date?

I recently was on Anthem of the Seas and noticed they were also offering Celebrity cruises at the Next Cruise office. I think this is new. I wonder if there could be a slow merge of benefits between Royal and Celebrity?
-
Eclipse is still running in SA, I believe.
-
But are the drinks really compatible? As a diamond, you get 4 per day, but on celebrity you only would get happy hour from 5 to 7? Is that correct?
-
Yes. My mistake. I believe it is the casino program. Apparently, one can get comped and discounts and perhaps even the annual 7 day on celebrity. Perhaps, this has always been the case but I am just now learning
-
I have noticed chatter in some of the facebook groups about RCL members getting comps or discounts on Celebrity?. Is this something new?
-
So which cruise is actually cancelled?
-
I was told by RCCL on the phone that any discount given for an advance reservation would be cancelled but the BOGO should be honored. It just wasn't made clear to me if doing an advance reservation is generally acceptable for BOGO. It seemed like it was the first time she was given this question and situation.
-
Before I saw this topic on this site, I had called RCCL. I was trying to get a reservation for the second night for the D+ BOGO but it was unavailable online. The agent had to ask for help a couple of times but ultimately gave me the reservation for just myself (one person) and told me to go to guest services once onboard to confirm my D+ BOGO. So not sure if this will get cancelled out once onboard or if this could have been an accident they will honor.
-
Do you know if we would go to the restaraunt to make the reservation or the guest desk?
-
Can the bogo be reserved in advance of the cruise or is it done once on board? The wording on the complimentary meal is vague.

A 3 month old next cruise reservation would have automatically lost its OBC. To keep the OBC you must book within 60 days of purchasing the reservation.
But I already had the reservation made with the OBC. It was only after I called and applied the annual tier comp to the reservation that I saw it gone.
-
Just so ya'll know, I had a different experience a week ago. I had a cruise previously reserved with Next Cruise. I was able to apply my annual free cruise to this reservation and it all worked out. It took me three calls to get the right agent. Based on what I read here, I don't know which is right or wrong now. But I would like to know for future trips as I usually book with next cruise and then apply my annual to that booking later.
annual tier comp cruise trade in value

My original question was answered assertively though, that as long as I am before that 90 day window, then I may apply that $500 trade in value from the upcoming annual tier cruise comp.
I just ended up with a different situation now with the whole deposit thing
