Again, as I asked in another topic, what cruise related thing are you here for? You joined half an hour ago and have added nothing useful to any discussion. I’m more than willing to take a look at any credential you have in epidemiology, but we already have an epidemiologist here in @Baked Alaska . We’ve already got a designated troll, and luckily right now he/she only comes out from under that bridge on weekends.
Are you a mod?

Even a ear like your proposing would be detrimental. Thousands more will loose their jobs . Millions on unemployment. Very scary picture your painting.
This sounds like an international aid/relief situation, then. Unemployed, but not swamped by tourists bringing and taking the virus sounds better than the alternative.

Is it political to mention the fact that at one point, less than 5 years ago, we had a full-fledged pandemic response team? I rescind the bits about who dismantled it and why, then. AT ONE POINT, the US would have been much better managed for this.

@Jencendiary your scenario does bode well for the thousands of people who depend on tourism for a living...that's entire countries mind you.
We can't quarantine forever that will kill more then covid.
Nobody is saying "quarantine forever." For heaven's sake.

Well then dont remain hopeful as Dr. Fauci said yesterday than it will be spring of 2021 at least before there would be enough vaccinations for the US alone.....and even then they are not sure how long the vaccination will be effective.
So if that's the case...we need to accept to live with it...or shut down the world and we can all stay locked down in our homes and die peacefully in our old age, but not from Covid...
Or we do what we can now (not travelling, social distancing, staying out of the bar and the amusement park and the public pool, encouraging workplaces to implement work from home as much as possible) so that we're not risking our neighbor's life because we can't be bothered with a little temporary restriction.

and perhaps being less complacent about preparations for this kind of thing!
The US had a full-fledged plan and infrastructure for this sort of thing. It was dismantled.
Galveston & New Orleans to Coco Cay

So, Sweetheart & I have basically decided not to travel until next year. BUT, I am hoping against hope that it will be safe for our 4th anniversary - April 2021. We've done one Carnival (on the Fantasy, insert sad trombones here) and are interested in branching out. We're not interested in flying or driving more than about 10 hours, so Galveston & New Orleans it is! It looks like the only thing that gets us to Coco Cay from there is Majesty in 2021. No balconies. Just like the Fantasy. Is it an older ship?
