  1. I too agree that security should have been alerted. Unfortunately, behavior has changed in what it acceptable. I mentioned that children do not bother me at all but the behavior of them and their parents do. So, I avoid saying anything to parents in this sense, but I have no issue with telling security. I try to avoid telling the average crew member because I don't want them to have anything taken out on them by entitled folks. But aside I take huge issue with people (children and adults) who insult others when they are just doing their job. I hope karma/universe gets their butt.
  2. I think it is true that someone is always leaving as someone is coming in. Lots of new diamonds might not care about being loyal. I also know people who sail and never activate their C&A status.
  3. You can ask for the meat to be well done but in regard to the duck it will be pinkish. It is two cuts of duck and while there will be dark meat, the breast won't be as dark.
  4. Two of the best options are no longer available. I liked the original burrata and arancini, both are truffle based now so........ The plank and ultimate garlic bread are always decent. The bolognese is always good, they no longer have the Pomodoro. Also the sticky short rib is pretty good. Can't say what to stay away from because your taste is unique.
  5. I have always looked at the ticket because I am weird about fine print. It has always stated that but never posted a check-in time. I always assumed because it was like a contract not a real-time document.
  6. Also @ScottD I hope you wife feels better. The weather tomfoolery has kicked my butt because of sinus/allergy issues. I thought I had covid and took 4 tests because of headache, sneezing, congestion and a stye under my eyelid. Only to learn after feeling dizzy that I had a sinus infection.
  7. Re: the bbq chicken side. Given how expensive water was, I assumed they had to make the meal worthwhile
  8. Yes. If a venue is open you can go, however it is one visit a day per a la carte. So you can do Playmakers, then JR. But not get $5 fries from JR and then try to go back to JR to spend the other $15 the same day.
  9. Omg I said this. Even the parking at $28*9 days was more than the shuttle. Keep in mind 2xLyft XLs are only $110 total with a tip. Vintage math is crazy as hell.
  10. I actually did laser tag solo and had a ball. I loved seeing how much fun the children have, although there was a very competitive dad in the bunch . I really hope your wife is okay, it doesn't sound like she has been feeling well or eating much.
  11. My plan was to get to the train at noon for a 1:55pm departure (boarding is 30min before departure). But now since everyone is coming separately, and I have the tickets, I will be there at 10:30. I am now sending my brother with my mother and the blind gent. Then bff and bff mom are coming with me and I have the info for the new vintage and my mother's bff private car. So, we are down to just 3 transportation options.
  12. @Lovetocruise2002 OMG that is such a worry. I wanted us to travel together for that reason.
  13. I sail 10/15 and mine showed up on day 31 and then was removed until after 5pm on day 30th. I say that to say just because it is midnight/morning and they don't show, doesn't mean they won't be there later.
  14. Each time I was on Harmony Sabor wasn't open, so I always forget about it. @Ticca The Japanese Strawberry is my favorite drink across the entire fleet, but I have yet to find anyone else who makes it. Even though I know they get their drinks made elsewhere.
  15. If you are talking Air2Sea. The only true plus is the cost of the flight is due at the same time as final payment. They want to get you there before the ship departs and if you miss it due to flight delays, they will get you on by the next port. There is a lot of cons if you are flying domestically. They won't allow for departure flights until after noon, so you might have anywhere from 4-10hrs before you can fly home. Sometimes you cannot assign your seats. Also some flights aren't shown.
  16. Only one of the specialty restaurants has a separate bar and that is Wonderland. The rest have special drinks but no separate bar.
  17. Day 10 We are technically only about a week away from travel and it cannot come fast enough. Work has really put me in the mood for a vacation........even vintage shenanigans don't seem nearly as bad as coworker shenanigans My checked luggage is 100% packed and the carry-on just will need to be filled with technology. I am currently in the process of downloading things for the train ride. So far, I have the last two seasons of the Challenge and the second season of Good Omens. My Kindle has yet to be loaded. I am working on that one, finding books to read during a relaxing cruise is easy but during one with 5 spicy vintages........it's a bit of a feat. In the beginning of the cruise planning process, I asked everyone how they would like to get to the train station. I asked them if they wanted to all meet at a designated spot and get a private shuttle. They said too expensive, it was $230 being split amongst 8 people. Most said they would carpool and park the two cars in a garage. I explained it was at least $25/day downtown for this. Making it more than the private shuttle. Still a no. Whatever, I was like I was planning on just doing Lyft anyway. So fast forward to Tues where the new vintage has rented a limo........well from a limo company. It is $175 and can hold 4 people and 4 luggage. Considering she has 3, it isn't feasible. Wed they asked about doing a private shuttle and I checked, its $400. My mother is now upset because they had planned to carpool and now there is no space for her or the blind gent. In her mind the new vintage did this on purpose because they are upset about him coming. Not saying it isn't possible, but this is why I always make backup plans. Now we are using 4 different/modes of transportation, which is going to cost everyone, but me, more than the private shuttle would have. It also means we will be arriving separately and at random times. My mother's room has gotten 3 emails this week about RUB. I think they need a 4pax room but none of them want to pay to upgrade. When I printed the luggage tags and setsail pass I noticed a couple of things. The luggage tags revert to the highest-ranking C&A member of the room. I don't know why I thought there were separate luggage tags. Even though all the vintages played in the casino on their last sailing, only the one without a C&A number attached says CHOICE. We booked traditional dining, and it is 7:45, not 8pm. Yesterday I saw a table and today it says look for reservation card in room. I also called the C&A desk to choose my D+ gift. On my sailing in Jan on Oasis the UDP and most reservations were sold out months before the sailing. On this cruise the UDP and a lot of reservations for specialty restaurants are wide open. I know as a party of 8, we will have limitations, but I wonder if more people are booking onboard and paying higher prices, since so many cruisers are newbies. I have filled out special need's forms for the new vintage and the blind gent. The last of the Amazon packages will arrive tomorrow. I am now looking forward more to my Jan cruises as packing will be much easier because we fly.
  18. No. But a small maybe. With traditional dining you have a set table. They might have guest still seated up until 5min before your time. But keep in mind you will wait in line regardless of traditional or MTD. The dining room will not open until it is ready. I had traditional dining at 8pm and because of a late port day, one night it didn't open until 8:15. But another caveat is that traditional dining times have seem to have changed. I have traditional dining on an Allure sailing 10/15 and late dining is 7:45pm.
  19. I am a plus size woman, and I have yet to gain weight on a cruise, in fact I often lose a few pounds. Since I am wfh, I think being active and taking the stairs, aids in this. I eat more on a cruise than I do at home, but I do occasionally go the gym and walk the track at least once a day. I never limit my diet on a cruise, but I am also someone of a picky eater. Most of the food is freshly prepared and the only real issue is the salt, which can affect everyone differently.
  20. I don't think the booklet/ticket has ever shown a reservation time. The ticket just shows room information and set dining times, never seen anything too personalized. Considering the check-in time can be changed or never even choosen, don't see why it would be listed.
  21. I also echo the sentiment that as this is your first time, don't spend any money on an expensive cabana/day bed. There are enough loungers and activities to do for free as a first timer. The food is pretty decent as well. I am also a little bias because I found the food at the Beach club to not be very good and borderline disgusting.
  22. Omg they covered that chop in sauce. I had the jerk pork and it was tender but spicier than expected. I feel like the weather determines how over you will feel at PDCC. I imagine the heat got to the little one.
  23. @27th Lady I might see you on Allure, I will have purple hair and hang mostly in the casino.
  24. This was port of Miami. I have seen it hit or miss at PE and PC.
  25. Ymmv, I had open chips and was told I had to toss them.
