  1. Your interpretation of my posts was incorrect. I was not angry nor dismissive and everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you look all the way back to the beginning of this thread you will see the original posts were angry and basically temper tantrums because the poster was not let on the ship early and the first two posters definitively proclaimed they would go elsewhere. I guess when people say that, I assume they mean it. I guess they don't. My question was, and I repeat, if someone is so unhappy with the cruise line, why do they keep coming back? In my opinion, and this is just my opinion, many of these perks will be taken away as the upper tier levels swell. People will keep complaining and maybe eventually go elsewhere but it's not going to be any different elsewhere because they're all on the same playing field. I just signed up for this blog so I don't have a long history but I have been cruising for years and I see these people with bad attitudes affecting other guests trips and I don't think that's fair. One last point. I really don't see how anything I say can be construed as cheerleading. I just think people refuse to face reality
  2. You people talk about lack of loyalty but you have none yourselves. Just as Royal is trying to make as much as they can, you all are just trying to get as much as you can. It's very hypocritical but also comical. Here is what I've experienced. Many entitled angry people that declare they'll never sail on Royal again seem to reappear on every sailing I'm on. Go to the Suite lounge or the Diamond lounge. The temper tantrums are almost nonstop. I just don't understand why people with so many complaints go again and again.
  3. I think people have the wrong perspective. These were perks that were given to them without any guarantees. These are businesses and need to have profits. That's what pays for all of these new ships. Years ago when prices were relatively higher we had window rooms on Vision. Is that comparable to the Oasis ships. Also, when they start programs they are not necessarily permanently viable. I think people know this and that's what works them up. At one time, half the ship wasn't Diamond or above. Is this sustainable? Or how about the perks for Pinnacles, does anyone think their benefits are permanent? I'm just talking about reality. If someone finds something that works better, they SHOULD move on. It's just better than cpmplainig.
  4. I have cruised for many years and I still disagree with you. My honest question is if you don't like it, why do you go, why do you post and complain? Since your moving on with your friend, i guess you will not be posting here anymore since this is the Royal Caribbean blog. I wish you good luck finding something you enjoy.
  5. I could not disagree more. The prices years ago were so much higher and taking into account inflation, cruises are incredibly inexpensive compared to what they were. They keep the bases price down so more people can afford to go. You than pay for what you want. This is a better model. You may do something different but if you're looking at a different cruise line it will be the same.
  6. Sorry, I was wrong. You can use bluetooth with airplane mode.
  7. I would not take your phone out of airplane mode anywhere. It will connect with the local company and you will get a big bill. I have a samsung and was unable to sync with my fitbit because bluetooth won't work on airplane mode so I'm not sure you can do it. Maybe someone else knows how to do it but I couldn't figure it out and I had wi fi.
