I forgot to say last night that CD Elvis said only 1000 guests got off the ship at Port Canaveral. I'd love to hear the numbers for Nassau tmw. I just had my Chai tea delivered for PDCC day. Batman is looking at the OTW/ floating cabana pics just now. He counted 8 people in the cabana. He's making fun of me. You booked this for just the 2 of us? What? You want to make friends at 8:40am and share it? (Never ask a question you don't know the answer to) Leticia is calling about 9:15 to let us know the status of the gangway. We'll be in #16. It's overcast here today. Looks like we're in for some rain. Not my idea of a perfect day but we'll roll with it.

In a galaxy far, far away, and many, many moons ago and most certainly NOT in stateroom 1701 on Oasis on or about the morning of September 26th, the following conversation may or may not have happened. I mean it probably didn't happen, but if it did happen, it probably happened something like this. Maybe. Probably. I admit nothing. If we're going there, this is "based on a true story" and most certainly NOT a documentary. For all you know, this is pure science fiction. Because it absolutely didn't happen as stated below. Obviously, I'm completely making this up. Probably. Him: Hey, you know how you pack your fat clothes for the end of the cruise? Her: Of course, any sane person does that Him (looking sheepish): I'm beginning to wonder if that applies to your underwear as well, by any chance? Her: Don't be ridiculous. Of course it does. Him: So, theoretically, you have underwear that may be too big for you right this second? And you have plenty of pairs to spare? Her: Correct (To be clear, HER knows EXACTLY where this conversation is going. She just needs HIM to spell it out, because that is 80% of the fun.) Him: Are any of them black? Her: yes Him: Are any of them the boy shorts type? Her: The boy shorts underwear are beige. The black ones are bikini. Him: I'm going to need you to hand me your phone first. And then I'm going to need you to hand over your oversized black bikinis. Ladies and gents, THAT is where the conversation ended. But the funniest 1.3 minutes of my life began. I will spare you the details of the fashion show. But Spoiler: i now have 6-pack abs.

Also, here are tonight's towel animals. Additionally, I've "hidden" maybe half our ducks. Turns out, I'm a terrible hider. One mom seriously told me to try harder. Too easy. (I'm 100% not lying here. Who knew I'd have to be into the "challenge" as well?) Forget that noise. That's not my point. My point is Batman noticed my tags. Inquired about why the ducks were tagged, without reading said tags. I simply said, "those are the rules. You're supposed to tag them." The end, and fine with me. I hope he never reads them. Ever. Because i think we know how that convo will go. But i can't imagine doing this ever again. Today in Orlando where normal cellular plans are working, i perused the cruise's FB page to see if there was any cruise-specific gossip. No gossip, but 978 pictures of ducks found or being hidden, or complaining their kids haven't found any ducks yet and could they coordinate hiding times so their kids could "find" them. Chalk another one up to (repeat after me) ....It seemed like a good ...

The illusionist, Jason Bishop, was a comedic magician, which is now termed an illusionist. Apparently. IDK, it was worth the 45 minutes or so of our time. And now we think we're behaving, but we all know that in a series of questionable decisions, i just opened a bottle of Moet. But that's OK because we're not out tonight. We're drinking responsibly, at home. Clearly this is the epitome of adulting right here. I also need to tell you that our snacks today were a plate of chicken tenders with fries, which Batman promptly put in baggies to save for our late night feeding. His plan? Warming them up with my Dyson hair dryer. Who knew i was married to the man who inspired MacGuyver?

I'm sorry to say we took a break from food porn pics tonight. But you can easily follow the Day 3 dinner menu of CK to follow along. I had the French Onion soup, which i made the mistake of ordering with the spinach salad. Only because i thought the spinach salad would be small. It was huge, but in my defense of eating almost all of it, it was primarily spinach and it was full of deliciousness. I didn't need to order both a soup and salad. But of course i did. Because, of course. Batman had the shrimp appetizer, which is a given any time it's offered. I did the Cod, and the fish was reasonably good. Our waiter, Satish, noticed i was clearly enjoying the tomato sauce it came with more and gave me a huge extra side of it. Batman had the salmon, but only because he wanted the hollandaise sauce, of which he also received extra. Again, Satish said in somewhat horror, sir, do you know that comes with zucchini?! Is that ok? Yes, zucchini is a major "won't" in our world, and Leticia once again was looking out for us. Love her so, so much! We're off to some Headliner show, which i understand is an illusionist. Whatever that is. YOLO.

First, thank you for assuming i would know. Second, i know for sure that the milky one was the classic B52. I believe he called the green one a melon ball. The one that looks like orange juice actually included peach schnapps, and does not come with the #Team1701 stamp of approval, but is passable for the 4th shot. Not recommended for your first.

Plausible deniabilty. I like it. I may have to resort to this. However, i think i need to leave you all in suspense until tomorrow when I'm free to have some liquid courage. I can only hope it will be worth the wait at that point. We'll see. Actually, I'm fairly certain it will be worth the wait if i can find the words to describe it in the manner it occurred. Now i wish i hadn't said that. I'm not building this up only to have you say, that? That is what we waited for? I'm going to cut my losses now and hope for the best tmw.

And I've realized I've left you hanging .... We did go to Blaze last night, but they were holding the comedy show there. So no dancing, no clubbing. That would've been the safer bet. I refer you back to the title of this blog ... So then we tried Playmakers again, which was mad stupid considering it was Monday night. We then thought we'd try the Schooner Bar. Is the Schooner Bar the old people hang out? I mean i know we're old, but we do not yet have matching haircuts old. So we wound up back with Jackson at G&A. Big mistake. Huge. The second he saw us, i saw the beginnings of lemon drop shots which we did not order. Batman said, nah, they aren't for us. I'll let you figure out where that went. And it ends with us not being rude and refusing them. It was the polite thing to do after all. Not pictured: said first round of lemon drop shots. We are taking it slow today and tonight because we although we're idiotically unfrugal, i did not spend $1799 +tax for us 2 idiots to sleep in our OTW cabana all day tmw. (Even more stupid ... $1799 was a great price! It climbed to over $2400). Dinner tonight at CK and then some Headliner show. And if we're smart, bed. However, I think we've all figured out by now that "smart" doesn't exactly belong in this blog ....

Another dupe. I'll add this tidbit primarily because i know @Lovetocruise2002 likes these kinds of juicy deets. On Oasis, each week 3 out of 4 Genies serve 3 SC rooms. One Genie will have 4. They rotate having 4 rooms. The 4th room will typically be 1720. So if you're in 1720 on Oasis, your Genie will be the one who has 4 staterooms. I don't think I'd ever pick 1720 voluntarily for this reason. We've not seen our Derick this cruise because he's got 4 staterooms this week, albeit they're a group/ family sailing together in 4 different SC cabins. While we do like this cabin a lot, if you're in the OP or GP, you need to know about the lack of privacy on the balcony and noise bleed from the pool. Neither has bothered us, just something to be aware of. Also bring clips to help close any curtain gaps. You know about the shower handle and the shade issue. Both are fixed now. Today our door became impossible to open. Our room service person must've reported it for us because that is already being fixed as well. It's never the problem; it's how it's managed. Zero complaints here.

There is so so much to catch you up on. But I'm not in much of a position to elaborate at the moment, if you know what i mean. Our room steward Sherman and i are now BFFs. Last night, we came back to the room right quick after dinner. Sherman was in there and we came home to this; I met our assistant room steward, Abdul, and immediately thought that it was he who crafted that. So after exchanging pleasantries, i told him i had something for him. I gave him a whole bunch of craft eyes, if you will, for towel animals. As previously mentioned, some of which glow in the dark. Really. He immediately said, oh these must be for Sherman then. As it turns out, Sherman was thrilled to get them. I was skeptical as i always am when giving a gift other than cash (do they have room, are they just being polite, etc). Sherman saw my skepticism and said, no, you don't believe me. Here, I'll show you. I'm running out! Look! I was just about to order more! So we had a good laugh over that. We tried to tell him that we're fine with only turn down service, but he's having none of it. Now he just comes while we're sitting on the balcony knocking to say a big hello. We got a very stern lecture, reminding us we're not to go home with any dirty laundry. And today he escorted us to the suite sun deck, calling us crazy without calling us crazy, asking what's wrong with our own balcony. Just order some cocktails and enjoy the hot tub (you Idiots ... that part was implied). He's right. The suite sun deck needs a water feature. It's really not all that. Honestly, I'm just working myself up to decide if i want to reveal just how far the great underpants caper has gone. There's been a development, and I'm working my guts up to share it, at the risk of ending my happy marriage if I'm ever breached.... I'm WAY too sober yet though. Stay tuned.

I mentioned this earlier, but IDK if Leticia gets enough of the she fully deserves. As soon as we met, we hugged it out and she thanked me for the WORD doc i sent her. It was a short intro with a list of our musts and must nots to help her "Genie up our trip." She's mentioned it a few times now so i think she genuinely found it helpful. I've seen letters some people write their butlers that can border on obnoxious so i was hesitant to write it at first. I kept it short and pithy and only mentioned dealbreakers. Leticia gets us totally. She really took my letter to heart and is absolutely on point. As i mentioned, she took that note one step further than i imagined. She speaks to the restaurant before each meal, advising them of our food won'ts. I didn't figure this out till last night. This. This is how you eat short ribs, people! Civilized people do not eat short ribs with polenta and carrots (i kid. Sort of.), and i wasn't made to feel an idiot asking to pare it down. This is how mine came without asking and they were PERFECT! So perfect Batman said he'd have the short ribs for his appetizer, main course, and dessert. Batman had the pork belly. Listen, we're the equivalent of D+ on Norwegian and i know many of you here hate NCL and will never consider it. Or tried it once and won't be back. That's totally fair and i fully support you in that. But there are certain things that NCL objectively does better than Royal. Nobody pork bellies like Norwegian. These were a complete disappointment.

Let me back track here a moment, because Batman completely disagrees with me when it came to the How Soon is Now/ In the Air Tonight mash up. He feels that How Soon is Now is perfect as is and mashing that up with anything is the equivalent of trying to cover Stairway to Heaven. I have a lot to catch you all up on, but I'm waiting for cover to continue ...

Update, Batman just announced he wants to find the night club. The last time he wanted to find the night club? He woke up sore the next morning. "Why am i so sore?" "IDK, probably from all the dancing you did last night?" "We went dancing?????" I'll leave this here and make no further promises, but I'll fill you in on 150CP and our room steward in the morning...

Back from 150CP. And it was freaking amazing. More to follow. Also more to follow: Sherman is top 2. We met our assistant Abdul tonight also. He's completely redeemed. I begrudgingly brought 5 ducks with me on our way to 150CP. They were all found by the time we were done with dinner. Here's to Sweet Leticia . If you recall, we neglected to fill out our survey. Instead, once we heard from her, i wrote her a quick Word doc. I explained our food and scheduling idiosyncrasies. When i ordered the short ribs tonight ... they knew: no polenta, no cooked carrots. They asked if it was ok to serve the truffle bread (no mushrooms). Leticia had warned every restaurant. She also made the rounds to tell everyone who mattered we're not to be disturbed prior to 11am. She is amazing!! Somehow that didn't post before. We're also back from AQUA80. Highlights: doing the Carlton during Karma Chameleon. I was so pumped for the How Soon is Now/ In the Air Tonight mash up, but that was way too short-lived. For my Philly natives, how do you skip The Dead Milkmen during an 80s show? (Going in the comment card!). Yeah, fine. If you're googling The Dead Milkmen, i forgive you.

Well i can only tell you what I've seen from the balcony when people watching at the pool. It was totally packed. And we made friends with another couple that are Sky Class and they couldn't get their 5:45/6pm CK dinner any day. They could only get 8pm. Last night we actually made the balloon drop and of course that was a madhouse, but that's expected on any cruise. You are kind. I hesitated a lot and then said screw it. They know I'm old and not happy that I'm not at my fighting weight. We're all cruise family here so who cares!

Today's "snacks." Yes, that's right. After our chicken sandwiches and breakfast salad. And before dinner. Ethiopia is sending our room a Bat signal right about now. Pro tip: bring plenty of extra baggies, esp with limited late night feeding options. This delivery will go into baggies and into the cooler. I don't think we're going to have a big dinner at 150CP, so these will come in handy if we get caught in another shot situation like we did last night .... Oh, i failed to mention the shots? Imagine that.

I'm still on the balcony, and i tried the "hot tub" today. It was freezing! I'm pretty sure that pellets of ice have clogged the jets. Actually, this worked out for me well. I have complications related to hip dysplasia and sciatica. My holistic doc recommends ice during flare ups. No better way to ice than to sit in a freezing tub of water and watch the ocean go by. What i should have done was film Batman's face when he got in to join me. He expected warm water but failed to test the water before going in. I about cried laughing. I'm sorry i did. He'll never throw caution to the wind again. the culprit:
