  1. saving lives one bite at a time!!! ahahaha soaps also my dog has been around for years so he’s just very well traveled at this point WELCOME!!! i was shocked but immediately downed the last of my coffee and moved on. wasn’t about to leave my cup for parts unknown behind me okay this is good to know. the buffet is overwhelming to me and i saw pizza briefly on the first day and then never again (as i’ve yet to return). i missed coco cay with a FIERCENESS
  2. slow start today, we are just waiting for breakfast…. friends in port with us today! at least there is a bridge cam channel so i could watch utopia coming in i am dressed in my bezos coverup that feels very akin to a butterfly and i don’t hate it.
  3. i just got in trouble for biting the blister wrapper off my cholula sauce he was horrified — i had to explain i brought it from home and that it was different from the original that they have on board.
  4. TOLD YOU!!! it’s miz at 2-5 am, dude. the travel fan is a lifesaver!!!!!
  5. TUNAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!! but ew are those tomatoes in there?!?! the HORROR.
  6. gosh this is the saddest thing i’ve ever read AS YOU SHOULD
  7. the chicken enchiladas saved my life. they were delicious and hit the spot. the guac was super dink, but they gave us two which was very kind. @Ampurp85’s brother and @OCSC Mike would both need to do the all you can eat option. our bill was about $16 and there was an issue with the system so we could not leave a gratuity. i need to go back there tomorrow and tip the bartender anyway, so i will try to get the server as well. the one night i don’t bring my purse with me…. after dinner, we came back to the cabins to discover delicious lemon tarts with meringue on top!! i wolfed mine in two seconds. so delicious. not a towel animal, but still cute!! then we changed and headed up to deck 20 just in time to miss sailaway i thought this was a cool statue on the pool deck now i am going to settle in a read a book - tomorrow is nassau and i will be living for the pool deck quiet times. also — the towel shortage persists!! the machine is broken so they are giving us other towels sparingly. i asked for more and jesse looked pained when he explained that he couldn’t give me 3 more as requested. it’s normally no big deal but the cabin is so cool (except during the hours of 3-5am!!!!) so the towels just stay damp all the time. anyway!!!!!! tomorrow is a new day! i will NOT be skipping breakfast again. excited!!!! also they put the little air mattress in so now i should not have any issues with the crack in the middle of the bed
  8. things are looking up!! - casamigos blanco - mezcal - lime juice - splash of OJ we ordered guacamole and chips and then i got the chicken enchiladas because i’m still starving. stay tuned… ps: everyone’s dinner was a bust. not just mine.
  9. we are headed to hola tacos because i really don’t want to fend through the jammer.
  10. dinner was…. a bust. at least the salad was good though.
  11. let me know if there’s anything specific you are looking for more of!!
  12. i hate cones — what weird line to draw in the sand
  13. yes!! we were asked to do this last time as well! i still do miss the other magnets tho
  14. tbh i hear MSC is not the easiest for TAs to manage, either. idk, the whole thing seems a bit shady
  15. it was a travel mug of cold brew (which couldn’t be seen) but i guess they didn’t want beverages in the pool??? unclear. tbh i think this is one place where gen pop wins. also coco cay kills it every time. they had beach shacks in addition to outdoor food places too but i was too busy whizzing by them in the tram to see what they offered
  16. beach island with a lighthouse (which you can pay to tour) along with shops and other eateries and places of interest along the way. i will say i find coco cay much easier to navigate but then again, we’ve been there many times. the YC is all the way at the back of the larger panoramic picture above, so it’s definitely secluded but nearly impossible to traverse on foot. the way we almost got mowed down trying to exit the elevator was on ANOTHER LEVEL this morning. i thought my father was going to have a heart attack. i want to say celebrity would NEVER — and i realize this is a holiday cruise week — but i really don’t think they would ever. mostly because the demographic is a bit older in vintage years and they just may not move as quickly and i’m okay with that!!!!! yes, agree. however there is no tub in their bathroom (if that’s a thing you like). but the overall amenities are worth it. no apology necessary!!! i agree with this statement also. the cabins are dark and mirrored; i guess this is more of a european influence but i prefer the brightness of a celebrity edge class cabin or the wow factor of a CLS. to be fair — we did not pay CLS prices or even aqua class on edge — we got this for screaming deal since we booked so far out. but i think that explains a little bit of the demographic we’re seeing aboard as well. there is NO WAY they don’t do this. this is why i travel with a fan now. keep that air circulating at all times and the diffuser going with mint scents to keep it refreshing and crisp in the cabin. EXACTLY. hope you’re having a perfect day at coco cay, @OCSC Mike!! i confess i am a bit jealous
  17. back tracking… it was a real journey to get off the ship. we were ready to go by 9, but my mother couldn’t seem to get her act together. so we headed for the elevators around 9:30. which brings me to my next point: the elevators. MSC uses destination elevators, and if you scan your YC card or band, you get priority, which is lovely. …except — oftentimes the “priority” means that once you select your floor, you are waiting for a car to come that needs to divest itself of all other floors. which means you’re sometimes waiting minutes for an elevator. once you’re on, it’s great — you go directly to whatever floor you selected. do not pass go, do not collect $200. it’s just the getting there that’s a bit of a mess. so because they like the butlers to be around for escorting purposes, they also have a habit of cramming LOTS of YC people in one elevator. this is where is find the RCC star class product superior — your genie takes your party and you alone. this time around, we elected not to sardine with the others and waited another 5 minutes for an empty car. once arrived and disembarked, we needed to wait in the roped off YC area for the tram. this is not coco cay. you cannot walk to the YC area. …i mean, i guess you could but it would probably take 45 mins at best. so we take the tram over and its a beautiful view of the island, breezy and lovely weather. finally we reach the ocean house, and the section of beach that is designated for YC. there are a lot of beautiful, sheltered cove beach sections all over the island and food places too, which looked super interesting and fun. unfortunately due to the design of the island, the YC beach is facing the back (side?) and with the winds today, there was no shelter. normally i am good with a strong breeze but this was just a little too much for me. adding insult to injury — no pun intended — the beach itself is extremely rocky and full of sharp coral and rusted beer caps i had one small such item get stuck under my foot where i cut it open on st. maarten last cruise and was like NOPE. so by the time we hoofed it to the seats and were battered by the wind, i figured, this is too much. and i bid my parents farewell, gingerly hoofed it BACK up the hill and hopped on a returning tram which was blessedly quiet and calm as i was the only one other than the driver. getting back on the ship was a challenge — very small security setup, only two small lanes and one was outgoing and one was incoming. there were only about 4 people ahead of me and it took some TIME. i would hate to see what its going to be like when everyone comes back en masse. i made my way to 8 to go to the infinity pool except there were no towels. the nice couple i asked let me know that you could get them in your cabin. the idea of holding it back to the YC to come all the way back down was unappealing to say the least. i decided to see if i could stick it out. lasted about two minutes and got scolded by a lifeguard for my coffee cup so i aborted mission, took the aft elevators to deck 18 and began my way back across. a serious design flaw of the “sea” class ships is that there is no central thoroughfare, which makes getting from one end of the ship to the other, an extreme challenge. there’s a lot of going up or down to get OVER, which can be tricky and disorienting. as it was, i had to drop from 18 to 16 (there IS NO DECK 17!!!!) and cut through the jammer to make it back to the YC. not going to lie, guys. the way i sighed with audible relief when i saw the glass YC doors was almost unreal dropped my coffee cup back at the cabin, and came up to the DEAD QUIET YC pool. there is NO ONE here except the life guards and maybe one crew manning the bar. time to SPF up and relax
  18. a bit of a good news bad news situation. good news: i am back in civilization, in the YC, at the pool deck. the loungers are deeply padded and comfortable, i have the place to myself, and there is a mimosa coming for me shortly. bad news: my cup clip doesn’t fit on this lounger!!! these are first world problems, i realize.
  19. i am back on the ship after an extreme exercise in futility on the island heading to the infinity pool at the back
  20. a failing of the YC is that the glass walls go up to like 7ft tall on the outside decks. so i can’t grab any pics without a glare unless i go down to 8. it’s good for wind shear, not so much for photos
