  1. I have been going over the questions and answers and you seem to be a fountain of knowledge.  Could you please tell me about the Amiga Island excursion?  We are over Haiti as we have been there several times and always settle in on the concierge side.  This time, we are thinking something less rocky and more exclusive.

Sorry, but that was one excursion I didn't do when I went to Labadee the last time. We just stayed on the main beach area and enjoyed our cabana as well as the coaster and zip line.

I'm sure if you give it a day or two you will get some answers from another member here who has been. And if not, while cruisecritic.com doesn't have the best "signal to noise" ratio and lots of complainers, you may find you have some luck posting your question there as well.

Oh, and if you want a really nice sandy beach and water, don't miss out on either Nellie's Beach or Columbus cove in the main Labadee area. The sand in the lagoon at Nellie's Beach was wonderfully soft and comfortable to stand on. I still had my water shoes on as I can't walk comfortably without them (gimpy leg), but I had some of it come up through the openings in the shoes and it wasn't at all bad.

  2. Wow, I am very sad for your experience. The day we went was the July 4th equivalent in Jamaica so it was extremely crowded. That being said, I knew of no injuries in our group or surrounding groups. My father-in-law, (68yrs) was with us as were three kids (11, 13 and 14 years). Slippery, yes, treacherous, yes, fun, yes. Maybe a beach excursion for you and your group next time.
  3. We have been to Labadee Haiti several times and we are looking to do an excursion on this trip. Does anyone have any feedback on the Amiga Island excursion they would like to share?
  4. Cruising out of Puerto Rico in July, heading to 1. Charlotte Amalie, St Thomas, 2. Wilemstad, Curacao, 3. oranjestad, Aruba and 4. Bassetere, St Kitts. Any suggestions for the absolutely must do excursions and the by all means do not do excursions. Celebrating 25 years married so it needs to be special and we do not drink alcohol. Thanks in advance
  5. We did the excursion through the ship to include Dolphin Cove swim, lunch and the falls. I think it was about $120 a person but we did it a few years ago. I highly recommend that excursion
  6. We did the Dolphin Cove swim in Jamaica and loved it. It was scary getting into the water with a wild animal but the staff made sure we all did exactly as instructed, with the understanding that we could be pulled out of the water at any time for not obeying commands. I recommend buying the photo package as well. It is pricey but if you are going with another couple you can split the cost and share the DVD, it will have everyone in the photos, even the people in the group that you do not know. My father-in-law and his grand-daughter were with us and he thanked me for booking this excursion saying it made the entire trip.
