  1. Since eastern and western Caribbean itineraries are so common for Royal Caribbean, which of the two do you prefer? Or better yet, if you could go on a Royal Caribbean cruise today and had to pick, which would you pick and why?
  2. I ate at Seafood Shack on Oasis back in 2010 and it was empty but I didn't think the food was awful. I actually would prefer Margaritaville, or any chain for that matter, not come to the ships. I prefer the ship restaurants to be unique and something I can't enjoy on land. That's what makes cruising special/unique.
  3. Have a great time! Let us know all about it when you get back
  4. My criteria for a good TA are as follows Knowledgeable about Royal Caribbean and the ships. Doesn't need to know more than me, but should be familiar with the lingo, ship classes and popular itineraries Willing to call Royal Caribbean with any and all inquiries I have about new possible discounts I find After booking, actively checks a few times per week (at least) for price changes in what I booked to see if I can save more money Willing to fight with Royal Caribbean if I find another TA/web site offering better booking incentives.
  5. I've always felt the Winjammer's hours were a bit too limited. They don't need it operating at full capacity all the time necessarily, but having a couple stations open wouldn't be a big deal. Frankly, I suspect the reason it's not left open is because guests will likely make too much of a mess and therefore, they'd need to staff it adequately, which in turn costs more.
  6. What is your favorite thing to do or see in Labadee?
  7. 35 nights? WOW! :o August 2013 25 - hallyluhopper (Freedom of the Seas) September 2013 21 - Matt (Jewel of the Seas) October 2013 14 - DARKCABBIE (Independence of the Seas) 14 - ChrisTravel2114 (Independence of the Seas) November 2013 26 - rekkie (Radiance of the Seas) February 2014 11 - trainer.stan (Rhapsody of the Seas) 14 - rekkie (Radiance of the Seas) October 2014 15 - ChrisTravel2114 (Oasis of the Seas) March 2015 21 - Matt (Quantum of the Seas Royal Caribbean Blog Group Cruise!)
  8. Nothing wrong with being negative as long as you're fair. Plus I think others will find it useful to hear the good and bad of anything.
  9. Samba Grill and Ritas are two restaurants I'd really like to try, so glad to hear they were good choices for you
  10. Sorry to hear that. I don't feel that this will be a really big deal in the grand scheme of things but it's a milestone nonetheless.
  11. Which was your favorite restaurant now that you're fresh off Radiance?
  12. I do agree that the milkshakes at Johnny Rockets are quite good. There's usually been a C&A coupon to help with the extra cost.
  13. There's no question there's an added focus on increasing onboard spending. I've always felt re: quality of food in MDR that MDR hasn't lost resources at expense of specialty restaurants as much as the MDR has simply left to languish. I still feel food in MDR ranges from "good" to "really good" but could use more attention in terms of consistently working to bring new choices there.
  14. The glass bottom idea is pretty cool. Not sure how it works with a ship that size and being able to sustain it or if guests ever get a chance to go that low. But if they could make it happen, it would be neat. Heck, how about an underwater cam that anyone can watch in their stateroom?
  15. An around the world cruise would be pretty epic
  16. My wife was telling me her dream cruise to take with Royal Caribbean is the 14 night Panama Canal crossing cruise. What cruise would you love to take one day?
  17. Orbitz isn't really what I'd consider a TA. I know they are technically ones but they fall under a different category. At any rate, you should not have to pay any booking fee to use a TA. Ever.
  18. Another vote for the Love and Marriage game show. Always entertaining
  19. I agree, this will not be the last trip to Europe for an Oasis-class ship, especially with 1-2 new Oasis class ships being built.
  20. We should also point out they could pick a name not from the list of names we've discovered registered. But it seems pointless to have registered names if they wont be using them.
  21. Oasis will be offering cruises from Southampton for a short while (just a few weeks) but it seems like there's LOTS of interest in sailing on her in UK
  22. ChrisTravel: If you book Indy for October 14, you will be on the same sailing as DARKCABBIE :) August 2013 25 - hallyluhopper (Freedom of the Seas) September 2013 21 - Matt (Jewel of the Seas) October 2013 14 - DARKCABBIE (Independence of the Seas) 14 - ChrisTravel2114 (Independence of the Seas) February 2014 11 - trainer.stan (Rhapsody of the Seas) October 2014 15 - ChrisTravel2114 (Oasis of the Seas) March 2015 21 - Matt (Quantum of the Seas Royal Caribbean Blog Group Cruise!)
  23. We're trying to decide which night we should skip dinner in the main dining room and eat at one of the specialty restaurants. Which night(s) do you usually opt for?
