Gotta love the price chasing game
-
I think I've said this before on the podcast but you can definitely go onboard with 2 bottles, disembark, buy 2 more bottles of wine somewhere and get back on the ship and no one really tracks it. Again, put the wine in your carryon
-
Thanks for the advice. Matt, I have followed WDW Today for years, and am happy to find your RCCI blog site. I am loving making my way through your podcasts!
Thank you for checking this site and podcast out! :)
-
I haven't done either but I hope someone here can help you. Welcome to the site!
-
P.S. Was paying in full immediately a rookie mistake? Since our honeymoon cruise was paid mostly by family as a wedding gift, this was my first time doing it all personally. Hopefully the final payment thing i see everyone talk about means the official final date.
No, I don't think paying in advance is a mistake. I've done it too, you can still adjust the price even if you are paid up in full.
-
I personally tip the porter $10.00 and I usually have 3-4 bags.
That's about what I tip too
-
Yes just bring the wine in your carry on. I did the exact thing on Navigator out of Galveston as well as other ports. No one will say a thing to you.
-
You do need the cup to use the Coca-Cola machines
-
That is a really cool cake. Your family knows you well!

Another good Podcast Matt :).
I know it costs a lot of money for RC to supply Internet access but i wish it was free or maybe they could make us feel like it was by hiding the cost in the price of the cruise
I don't think it will be free anytime soon BUT I do think it may become more affordable, which will encourage more people to buy it
-
Hearing this deal may be extended as far as July
-
As of right now....
1. Sabor
2. Chops
3. MDR
4. Portofino
5. WIndjammer
I reserve the right to change this

I agree - RCI raised some prices for this sail but overall I do see some savings on some itineraries
If you're booking a cruise for 2015/2016 I'd take advantage of it but remain vigilant for better prices as time goes on. Good entry point to lock in a decent deal and then see what else comes your way.
-
Remember that MOST of your receipts from purchases on board will have a spot for "additional gratuity." Be aware that it is, in face, additional. No need to add tip unless the team member provided extraordinary service.
Very good tip, so be sure to check if you already did tip them.
I also tip porters when dropping off and picking up my luggage. Makes my life so much easier to use them and worth a few dollars.
-
This is so difficult cause both sides can argue their point - but I agree that parents are the most responsible for their kids on ships or anywhere around water and I would not think that having lifeguards would change that on ships at all.
Agreed, it's a tough situation
-
Best I can tell you is solo cruising is getting better with single cabins coming with Quantum class ships. I think looking forward, cruising solo will become more affordable.
-
It has been hit or miss with me getting them.
Same here. I don't ask for them but if I am given them (like on my Navigator cruise this year), I use them.

nearly drowned, contrary to article's title
I had this conversation with someone else. I don't believe to drown requires you die. If you find someone at the bottom of the pool, you would describe them as....?
Also Meriam Webster defines drown as "to suffocate by submersion especially in water".
Sorry, I had to defend my grammar :P
---
Back to the topic, I see it both ways. These pools are so small and there are plenty of pools, beaches and lakes where it's swim at your own risk.
On the other hand, RC is a family cruise line and it would only help to have a lifeguard present.

www.worldtaximeter.com - found this site and have had a few clients
use it and say the fares were very true to cost on what the site said
might be worth looking at - Thanks
Great find, thanks Michelle!

I guess I'm boring because I love the Windjammer salad bar. Especially the tomato, cucumber, olive and feta cheese salad.
I always aspire to try the greek salad but get easily distracted elsewhere

Hi, my name is Michael. I live in Oklahoma but am a proud Texan (irony I know!). My wife and I first cruised for our 4 month belated honeymoon Sept. of 2009 on the Enchantment. We were enchanted with the Enchantment. 5 years later we're finally able and going again August 31st aboard the Navigator.
Welcome Michael!

That's right. I forget if you can cancel your old booking and then immediately re-book under the WOW sale. But worth asking if that's a possibility.
