Passengers aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise can book their next cruise while onboard for some of the best deals on a Royal Caribbean cruise one can find. There are two types of onboard bookings and either must be made prior to the end of the cruise.
Booking a Future Cruise where you are picking a specific itinerary/sailing date. You get the reduced deposit of $100 per person, which is refundable if you cancel prior to final payment. The only time you would not get a reduced deposit is when you book a Grand Suite cabin or higher, then a full double deposit is required.
NextCruise booking is where you are "not" picking a specific sailing date. With this type of booking you also get a reduced deposit of $100 per person. A booking number is assigned that only becomes active once you convert to a specific itinerary/sailing date. There is no further money due at the time of conversion until final payment. However, if a Grand Suite or higher cabin category is booked at conversion then a full double deposit would be required. A NextCruise does not expire.
You also get two Certificates for Friends and Family with a NextCruise booking. If given to family & friends, they must book the same cruise within 30 days of when you converted your NextCruise booking.
Both types of bookings will get you an Onboard Credit and either the ability to use a Crown & Anchor Society balcony discount or a Crown & Anchor Society Savings Certificate, if one becomes available for your cruise.
With the above bookings you can combine Onboard Credit from Visa Points and Onboard Credit received from a travel agent or as a gift from family/friends with any two benefits from Royal Caribbean. If you own 100 shares of Royal Caribbean stock, that can not be combined with any Crown & Anchor Society benefit.

$25 for sailings of 3-5 nights
$100 for sailings of 6-9 nights
$150 for sailings of 10-14 nights
$200 for sailings of 15+ nights
The Certificate for Friends and Family is identified by your NextCruise booking number when created. When booking the same cruise all they have to do is mention this booking number to get the reduced deposit and onboard credit.
