Transportation to Magen's Bay, St. Thomas ???

Royal offers an excursion to Magen's Bay when we will be in port at St. Thomas. It is a 4 hour trip with only 2 hrs beach time and the rest being driven around the island. Has anyone used a taxi from the port to and from Magen's Bay? We have seen St. Thomas and prefer to spend 5-5 hours on the beach. Thanks!
