GTY and Royal Up Question

Hi Everyone, 

I booked an ocean view GTY room through a casino offer, paying for an upgrade from an interior room. I got my royal up link today and it says on it "current stateroom interior guarantee". I hate interior rooms and would feel claustrophobic to the point where I would consider not going. Should I be concerned about the discrepancies? I don't see on my receipt where it says ocean view, it just says Stateroom: GTY, Description (blank) and stateroom obstructed: pending. I'm hoping the "pending" part means somewhere in the RC jenky computer-verse the reservation is correct and there's a room for me somewhere with at least a porthole. I'm 45 days out and have heard rumors that there's a way to see what room you've been assigned but I haven't figured out how to do this yet. Any insight would be appreciated.

I don't have a true answer, but I did look at my invoice for my march sailing which is a casino comp and I paid for the GTY balcony upgrade (they offered me a freeplay bonus if I did GTY, normally I don't do GTY).  Royal Up is too early for me yet.  My invoice says the same as yours with Stateroom: GTY and Obstruction: pending.  But in the billing of the invoice, I see the line item YKD9-Casino Upgrade where I paid for the balcony upgrade.  I think what you are seeing may be normal as far as Royal Up goes, but I am curious how it plays out as you learn more.

I tried replying here earlier (just created this account). Not sure if it is going through but I typed up a long response regarding a recent personal example in which I have dealt with this issue. If my other response didn't go through, moderator please send this one through -- long story short Katie is that you need to call Club Royale line ASAP and clarify with them if the GTY room they have in the system is what you are expecting it to be (the cabin that you upgraded to). There is a high chance that it is incorrect in their system and is still showing the initial cabin type (which sounds like was an interior room). There will be nothing you can do once the trip arrives if this is the case. But if you call ahead and get it sorted out they will either make the correct change in the system so that you get the correct stateroom, or either refund you the upgrade or complimentarily upgrade you beyond the initial upgrade (luckily they record all of the conversations and are good about going back and listening to them when needed).
