High Prices on Triple Occupancy Cabins

Recommended Posts

Been a long time RCCL cruiser (Emerald Status) with my family. In the past, I have always booked multiple double occupancy cabins at a reasonable price. This year, I require a triple occupancy cabin, and finding it very difficult to get one at decent price. Seems like I will have to pay twice as much for the benefit of squeezing a third person into it. Finding it very hard to remain “Loyal to Royal”. Any advice?

Price the various categories and keep checking prices.  It might also be worth pricing two cabins.

There are a limited number of triple and quadruple berths, so if they are in high demand the pricing can become quite high.

The issue I think you are running into is rooms that can accommodate a third passenger are larger rooms, and different pricing than a room that is just 1 or 2 guests.

I have 2 kids, so we often deal with this issue as well.  The newer ships seem to have more options than some of the older ships.

When you look at the price breakdown, the cost of the third passenger should be lower than the first two.  If you can time things with a Kids Sail Free deal or the current 30% off third and fourth passengers, it can help as well.

Unfortunately, RCCL's pricing, when adding a third passenger to an Oasis Class Balcony Cabin jumps up. Cabin price of $2,400 for a cabin of two, jumps up to over $5,000 when pricing the same cabin type for three. This includes all potential promotions and/or sales. Cabin size remains the same at 192 sq feet. Thanks.

Royal yields pricing based on demand, so I'm guessing third berth cabins are popular for your saling. At that pricing, if either look at other categories or book two connecting cabins. With two cabins, the one traveling solo will get double Crown and Anchor points at least.

Ah, I see what you're referring to.  The issue is a room for 1-2 passengers may not fit 3-4 passengers, so when you add a third passenger, you have to book a larger room.  That's why the price jump
