Hi Everyone

Just want to pass on a warning about a tour operator in Papeete, French Polynesia

I'm currently on Ovation from Sydney to Hawaii for it relocation back to Alaska

We have today stopped into Papeete

We did not want to take a Royal tour as we wanted to go off ship at our pace.

Soon as you get off the ship your greeted by tour operators (like alot of places)

for $50 USD you can get a coach tour of the island over 4 hours with 5 stops

Not a bad deal until you have paid then the fun happens....

once paid they ignore you and dont care about you

You bring up an issue and they shrug at you and go along there own way.

The coach does not exist but they give you a school bus that is very tight and very uncomfortable for a 4 hour tour

Also with them running late we missed stop so 4 stops for 5 we paid for

The Operator is Paradise Tours Tahiti

My wife and I took the same tour you described the same day. I can say truthfully, this review is way out of proportion. The ship sells the tour for 150.00 bucks. Paradise tours were on the dock selling it for $50 which is more than fair. There two big buses were full and they had to get another one from somewhere just to please everyone. It was air conditioned, comfortable and new. It was definitely not an old school bus as the review said. The people selling were very polite and even had photos of the stops. I saw them interacting with other tourists and they were much more polite than in the US, trust me. Some people are never happy. They did miss one stop I was told because of the heavy rain they had experienced very heavy rain that week. Paradise Tours doesn't deserve a bad rap like that. The tour was fine and my wife and I both enjoyed it. It was only$50.00 to boot

My advice for the people who didn't like it is to take the ship tour at $150.00 next time since they are entitled. This was Tahiti, not Beverly Hills. They were on the dock selling tours for people who didn't want to spend the money for the ship tour. It is a good company, Get with it. Nobody else complained.
