  1. Someone feel free to tell me I'm wrong, but in the past I've never found really cheap airfare into or out of FLL for a cruise. I always fly in the day before and back right away which has always made it a Saturday flight down and Sunday back.  The airlines know this is the busy time for cruisers and adjust the pricing accordingly.

In the past, and for my next cruise in January, we fly into Orlando, spend the night there then take a rental car down to the port.  We have more options on flights and the reduced flight expense easily covers the rental car (although we always have 3 or 4 of us not just 2).  Plus I use my DVC points to stay at Disney so that is covered.  The drive early in the morning is pretty easy and, of course, getting up early is also since who can sleep in the day they leave on a cruise!!   :)

After the cruise, do you drive back to Orlando to fly home or do you fly out of FLL?  The prices that I'm seeing out of FLL are high, in my opinion, although I've cruised before during non-peak times so maybe I'm just not used to these prices.  Virgin America seems outrageous to me.

  2. Hi..I am sailing on the Allure in June with a large group of family and friends (approx 70 people). I was thinking it would be nice to have a group picture taken (we're having a group shirt made). Does anyone know if I could arrange something with RCCL to get a group picture in the Aquatheater area and have one of the ship photographers take it? Who would I need to contact for this? Thanks!

  3. I enjoyed reading about your trip. I think I missed the part about which ship you went on and out of which port. I'm planning to go to WDW pre-cruise and our Allure cruise leaves out of Fort Lauderdale. Is this where you left out of? Which Alamo did you rent from? I'm thinking if returning to FLL airport but wondering if there's something better/closer to the port?

  4. AGSLC5...I'm happy (a little jealous, too!) that you're going on the Harmony. That ship is definitely on my bucket list. For my cruise, I'm going with a large group of friends that have never been on a cruise before so having the same shows as when I went in 2013 isn't a big deal. I was just curious if the shows change every few years. Oceanaria was fantastic so I'm for sure going to want to see that again. Thanks for the reply!

  5. Well, I guess if Blue Planet and the Monopoly ice show are still playing, then the performers are doing the same shows years later. Oh well, if they are still performing those shows when my cruise comes around, I can always find something else to do. Definitely not a shortage of activities on the Allure :-) Thanks for the info.

  6. Does anyone else find it annoying that RCCL does not combine C&A discount with most promos?  Starting tomorrow they are having a $100 off promo for 6-9N sailings but because I'm already getting a $100 C&A discount, I can't combine them.  Doesn't seem like loyalty gets you much in discounts.
