  1. Thanks Kevin, that is helpful. I look forward to the event.
  2. Has anyone done either of the above excursion options? If so, what did you like or not like? Thanks! Natalie
  3. Hey all. I am looking at the dining option on the Odyssey of the Seas, and something has come up called Taste of Royal. It sounds like it's not a specific restaurant? It says you will get a letter the day before telling you where to go eat, but like most RC options, details are vague. Do you have any say in what you eat? I would love to hear your experience, if you've done this. Thanks, Natalie
  4. Hello, I wondered if anyone has done any of these three tours in Malaga, and if so what did you think? The City Tour and Small Group City tour are very similar in sites, but there isn't much to describe what you traveling in. It sounds good in theory that the small group tour is more intimate, but being in the center of a minivan bench seat might not be actually as comfortable as a seat on a large bus. The other possibility is the Land and sea tour. I would love to find out what type of boat you are on for the tour of the coastline. Love to have your input.
  5. Hello Fellow Sailees! My husband Brian and I are booked on this cruise. We are doing back to back cruises, and are also booked on the same ship to sail a Rome-to-Rome Mediterranean cruise right after (Greece, Turkey and back to Italy). Seemed like a good idea to see as much as possible if we are going to go that far! I hope 3 weeks of cruising is not too much. So far our longest cruise was a 10 day HA cruise out of San Diego, down into Mexico. Why are we doing this cruise? Well, it will be an official honeymoon for us. We are getting married Aug 2024, and doing a short road trip right after, but wanted a bigger trip to celebrate the event. After looking at many, many options, we picked this cruise because: It hits many destinations on our bucket list, including New York I like the idea of a more gradual time change flying to and from Europe can be brutal, this seems a more gentler way of doing it I think the Azores could be very interesting, and if we simply flew to and from Europe we would have missed it. Repositioning cruises seem to offer good value for the price. With so many at sea days they tend to cost less. We will tag on a couple days in NY. Not sure if we will need another day in Rome or not. I have yet to see what excursions will be offered there. Very excited! We have started to look at the excursions, but I find it challenging to find out more information. I have posted a couple questions on the Shore Excursion section here, but I'm not sure many people have done this cruise. Oh, the word 'honeymoon' likely conjures up images of young people, but, picture seniors on second marriages instead. lol Natalie
  6. Hello Royal Folks. I was looking at the excursion options in Malaga, and I was hoping someone could share their experience with the Caves of Nerja. It is listed as a strenuous activity, but it doesn't sound all that strenuous? I am more concerned about how crowded the caves are. In a cave with a lot of room I think I would be okay, but I might be a bit claustrophobic in crowded cave! And just generally less pleasant if you can't really see anything for the people. The drive along the coast sounds nice. An sadly, at this point in my life I have to ask... what about bathrooms? At the venue, or on the bus? Thanks, Natalie
  7. Hello helpful folks. We are doing a transatlantic cruise next April/May, and I'm looking at the excursions available so far. There is one called "Village of Sete Cidades & Wine Tasting". Has anyone done this? I didn't know this region was particularly known for wine, so I'm wondering what that is like? Reds? Whites? Both? Thanks for any help here! Natalie
  8. Thank you all for your help here! We have decided that being able to select the dates and times we want to dine is more important than the discount, so we didn't buy either the dining package or The Key. We would rather do fewer times, and get when we want to dine. Any idea how far ahead the reservation system becomes available? Regarding the reviews... with HA they are not anonymous, and you have to have done the cruise in order to write a review. I found them very helpful. I am happy to find this place to ask questions, but it is a lot more digging.
  9. Thank you Ryan. I think a lot of my confusion is because the trip is so far out, and the information just isn't there yet. There are no restaurant prices in the cruise planner, nor any reservation ability. Regarding the restaurant discounts (either the Key or unlimited). If folks without these packages can make reservations before boarding, is it not possible the spots will be taken, and I have paid for nothing? Does that ever happen?
  10. Hello Royal Caribbean folks. My hubby and I are booked on 2 back to back cruises next April and May 2025 on Odyssey of the Seas. We read a lot of reviews prior to booking, so thought we knew what to expect, but find the processes more convoluted that Holland America (our only recent cruise). I have looked up answers here and elsewhere, but sometimes answers are different, so I think some times things change. So hoping someone can help me out. Anyway, here are my newbie questions. I was surprised I couldn't see the available excursions before I booked the trip, and disappointed in the choices once I could. Is it because the cruise is a year away, and not all are known yet? For example, no excursions whatsoever in Barcelona and Rome, and only one if Florence. That doesn't seem right. I have contacted customer service on this, but no answer yet. Also, no reviews of the excursions, and descriptions somewhat lacking. Are we on a bus? (With a bathroom?) And how long are we on the bus/shuttle etc. Is there anyone I can ask specific questions? I was comparing the dining discounts. For our first cruise the only choice is Unlimited Dining in Specialty restaurants (the second cruise has 3 days and unlimited), or, getting 20% off by buying The Key (which has other perks). But 20% off of what? I can find nothing about the restaurant prices. Is it $100 a plate, or $50, or $? Also, it says reservations must all be made of first day of cruise, and at a restaurant. Really? This can't be online ahead of time? Doesn't this process lead to mass line ups on Day One? If I went for the Unlimited Dining, do I still need to book everything first day? What if I spent all that money for an unlimited package, but then were unable to get reservations where I wanted? I hope that's clear! Thanks in advance for any help here. Natalie
