  1. We'll be there! We're doing a company retreat, taking three team members and their families on a quick get-a-way to wet their cruising appetite.
  2. Are longer cruises on the latest and greatest ships going to be a thing of the past?

It's no secret that shorter cruises make more revenue faster than longer cruises (assuming same or near same occupancy levels).

The new trend seems to be to move the Oasis Class ships (built and to be built) in this direction.  If this model proves to be successful, do you think that the trend will be to roll new ships out on short itineraries to speed ROI and then as they get older, to move them to longer itineraries?

    On a related side-note:

For now, the shorter itineraries are focused on the Florida to CocoCay route and the island is becoming much more crowded with ships from both Celebrity and Royal.

I think they'll either need to add more capacity to dock and possibly expand the island more than they have already to disburse the crowds further.

  3. @Traveling Mike I will say that the new pay now, book later offers some benefit and a decent amount of flexibility. Here's a link to their new program for more specific details. Basically, you get a reduced deposit if you place a deposit for a future cruise (which doesn't have to be decided upon while onboard). You have two months to make a decision and book to get the On Board Credit. If you pass that time horizon, you still can take advantage of the reduced deposits. https://creative.rccl.com/Sales/Royal/NextCruise/19067112_NextCruise_BookNowBookLater_FAQs.pdf
  4. While onboard Wonder last week, there was an offer to put a deposit on a future cruise and save up to $600, based on cabin type and length of cruise. Additional limitation are that you must book within the next 2 months to realize the full amount of savings. Otherwise, you simply get a reduced deposit. The NextCruise person didn't know for sure, but said that she thought that Europe 2025 would be released close to September, My recollection is that these are announced closer to December. Thoughts?
  5. Thanks Matt! out of curiosity, what happened after her screen went red? Were you able to cruise or did it tell you to cancel or were you contacted? I realize that lots of people cough, but my concern is that her cough is frequent at this time. Since we're in day 4, we're hopeful that it'll be mostly gone in a few days. Still, no fever, no other symptoms and has been consistently negative for COVID for everything. Hopefully that and the Doctor's note will get us through everything.
  6. We are hoping to cruise on Friday. About 4 days ago, my youngest daughter got a cold. Since then, she has tested negative every day and today we took her for a PCR test to put concerns about COVID in our family to rest. Additionally, the Doctor will be providing us with a note that she just has a case of the common cold. With that, a few questions: 1 - will we be able to board the ship if our daughter happens to cough during checkin? 2 - I'm not sure what's on that pre-cruise quetionnaire, but if we say yes to a question like yes, I have a sore throat, will be be told right away to not come to the terminal? Enquiring minds want to know Thank you in advance!
