  1. I will be taking this cruise also.  Touring Alaska is a bucket list item.  Getting very excited as the date to leave draws near.  I did not book the cruise tour through Royal but rather did my own tour arrangements which includes trying to catch the aurora in Fairbanks and taking the Gold Star rail trip to the cruise port from Fairbanks. Post cruise I will be spending a day in Vancouver then heading to Emeryville to catch a cross country train ride home.

  2. I am doing a solo trip this September arriving first in Fairbanks for a few days then taking the Gold Star from Fairbanks to Seward with an overnight stop in Anchorage before heading to Seward.  I am getting conflicting info in my google searches with regard to the transport of my checked luggage.  Does anyone have any recent experience with this when train transportation was booked directly with the railroad?  Since I will be gone for about 3 weeks I have 2 checked bags and as a senior I am not really interested in schlepping my luggage to the cruise port on foot.

  3. I am cruising on Wonder of the Seas on 3/5/2023. On every other Royal Cruise I went on shows were booked once on board.  So imagine my disappointment that after reading an email within 3.5 hours of receiving it regarding reserving shows, the 3 shows I wanted so desperately to see were sold out!!! One of the reasons I booked this upcoming cruise was for the entertainment particularly the Aqua show.  Am I really not going to be able to experience that and the others?  As a single senior cruiser, the shows onboard are a large part of my enjoyment factor.  I am hoping that it is practice that more spots open up once on board?  If anyone has knowledge on this subject please respond.  I am so bummed.

Our cruise is in 6 days and still no decision on our bids. Still able to bid also. Wondering how close to sailing date RCL usually goes before upgrades (I know it’s a 3rd party that does them). We’re sailing on Allure on June 5th.

I sail on the 5th also on Oasis of the Seas.  I bid on both a 1 and 2 bedroom Grand Suite.  Both bids are still pending even though it looks like there is only 1 grand suite left and no 2 bedroom Grands.  Still hoping though and check everyday.  Last time my bid was accepted I was unable to modify it a few days before I was notified.   Fingers crossed and good luck to you.

  5. Hello all.  I just read today's email from Michael Bailey and was surprised to read this statement in his message:

Also incredibly important is the ongoing temporary pause on access to the Suite
    and Concierge lounges

I booked a suite for my November cruise specifically for the benefits of this was a large one.  So I was wondering if I am reading his message correctly.  Is this condition just for non-suite C&A members who have previously been allowed access to the lounge or is the lounge closed to all?

Now I am wondering if I should buy a drink package.
