  1. @Fairlynew can you just pop down for dessert? I don't have the UDP. I may ask nicely when I receive the concierge email if I can get it for dessert for our 30th anniversary dinner in CK. I'm not holding my breath but maybe someone will feel kind. I'm going on this final sailing for a while with limited expectations. Thanks for the great idea.
  2. BIG ONE just happened to me. I went in to adjust my bid, I bid 1,600 and wanted to bring it lower, the minimum was 800.00 I believe. I went to the slider and it wouldn't go down, the minimum had risen to 1820 starting bid. I tried to just adjust to my previous 1600 and it wouldn't take it so I just felt I was SOL and closed out the window. Something nagged so I went back in and looked I inadvertently sent the slider to the top 4400 for the bid, omg so glad I caught it I canceled immediately thanking my lucky stars it wasn't accepted!! It would have been an ugly win for sure. So I only have a minimum remaining bid in for an aquasuite a cabin I have never experienced and am forgetting about it, I'm already in a CLS. But be careful, that bid X 2 would have put me in the dog house for sure. My credit card was already there because it was a modification. Phew, first time I'm happy I didn't "win" a RUB. Be methodical and careful before you submit. Good Luck everyone and have fun!! SLIDER DANGER!
  3. We were there this past June, that was the price of the cabanas. They were sold out, but I must say there were a lot more than 8 people each in those things. I remember floating in the water thinking if I paid that much money I may have not enjoyed that fact, people everywhere and they were blasting music, so if you like the genre you are good, if not ugh....miserable. BUT it was a very hot summer day and the day was beautiful. I am sure some purchased for less depending on their timing but they were not sold out and then they were....at that price. IF you really want it I would get it and then watch for price drops, fingers crossed they occur. PS I liked the genre so I was floating in the area loving life!
  4. @Ryan79 oh wow, thank you so much! Yes. 2 ships and we are the second ship in right now. I appreciate the great info. At least I know how to proceed.
  5. @Newerrcclcruiser22 I have Wonderland booked, & honestly I'm showing this to my family I think it's a pass for us THANK YOU! Hubby especially, not fancy just meat and potatoes kinda guy. Hates sauces, fried stuff you saved me from saying sorry all evening. Also, are they showing Columbus on the stage yet? The past planners show Grease but no Columbus. Thanks so much!
  6. Most likely just a terminology change to be more exact. Seems now if it said pending that would mean you won the ability to pay for the upgrade. Right now they have the bid that you submitted. I think they are just attempting to be clearer in the wording.
  7. We are splitting the cost of the water park cabana with another family. I paid for it, they will reimburse me for their half then. I know I like a certain location in the park and we are in a CLS are the cabanas numbered? I would like to ask the concierge for a specific area. Also and more importantly I linked our reservations and will give the info to the concierge but how will they be admitted to the park, we may be arriving separately. How can I link the cabana to their sea pass cards? We may be on top of a water slide when they arrive, I want them to be able to enter the Waterpark on their own. Thanks for the info!
  8. Same for me. Just checked after reading this thread. Harmony 31 July sailing. I think it's a terminology change because the word pending implied you could have "won" the ability to pay more. Submitted is more exact.
  9. @Carotthat I checked the Marriott at the Newark Airport and they dont have day passes that I could find. I personally would book the cheapest room available and leisurely check in early. They will at least secure your luggage for you. Maybe Uber to the Statue of Liberty for some morning hours and then return to hotel for a nap and refreshing shower and some food before your late flight. Tell them your staying for the kids, maybe they give you the room super early. If so just chill there. Tell them you aren't even staying the night. You can walk or take the hotels shuttle to your terminal. Good Luck!
  10. Yay! Following along. Looking forward to your experiences! Enjoy & have an amazing sailing.
  11. @Carotthat Yes, for example the Marriott Hyatt on site at the Orlando Airport offers a day pass. You can enjoy a secure place for your belongings, their pool, gym and restaurants basically the amenities of the hotel without staying the night. Where are you flying home from? Look around the area or on airport property for something of that nature. Happy Sailing!
  12. I have the bands from the Harmony in 2019 when I sailed. Would you be able to get them synced for use with your sailing? For use on the Harmony in 2022
  13. This is exactly my assertion. I agree with it 100% especially the airline scenario. The second disgusting thought I didn't love & I would assign a disgusting response if there was one. There is NO excuse for the failure pertaining to human fluids. It just seems everywhere I go prices are up and quality is down. Star is about the experience & while I loved it and MAY book it again waaay in the future Sky is still my happy place, but taking a break from Royal right now sadly makes me happier. Just want to give her a minute to figure things out instead of me feeling my experience is meh for the $$. I am a glass half full person in life, but I can also see a diluted experience/product that should not be. I know this is a fan site so I'm sorry ahead of time if I offend with this post.
  14. @Melissa Amaral Just our experience, on one of our last sailings we purchased the water park admission for the teens. There were 2 ships there, the lines were so long like as in over an hour long. They went on 2 yes two waterslides and when waiting for the 3rd it was shut down due to lightening in the area. They left and returned to us, what a waste of $$. As soon as you board hit the excursions desk there may be cancelations for whatever reasons. If still not successful, have an early breakfast or skip it like we do, exit the ship as soon as you are given the okay. Secure a great spot at the Oasis Pool or beach for a home base. You can make it an amazing day without the waterpark in my humble opinion if you have to. When you see the lines and the amount of people you may just be happy exploring the Island and moving around from pool to beaches. With 2 ships in we highly recommend Coco Beach Club if it's available. Have an amazing sailing.
  15. Departing was smooth but early. We were given a time of 0800 to be out of our cabin via a stateroom letter, stating extra cleaning for next guest. Our concierge advised suite guests to meet at Schooner bar and he walked everyone off in a group, this was completed swifty and smoothly. You may be able to linger on the ship a bit longer enjoying breakfast and then leaving on your own but they want everyone off so they can clear the ship to start boarding the next group. Check for day passes to enjoy close by if your flight is a late one.
  16. I can't find my map of Coco cay anywhere. What are the names of the two beaches the Beach Club is located between? I thank you in advance!
  17. @Lovetocruise2002 and @GregD Thanks to you both for taking us along. You are beautiful people with beautiful families. Every evening I would look forward to your pictures and commentary. Last night hubby put in a DVD for a movie we wanted to enjoy, he was like "I'm ready!" I responded "I'm not, still catching up with Sabrina and crew!" He laughed and did something else until I was finished. Then he said didn't she go to Norway? So we revisited all of the photos from page 1! The content was amazing, you guys did great, I felt like I was there with you. I felt the cold, I felt the food coma (with zero calories) but most of all I felt the joy! Happy Birthday D16 and Happy Anniversary Greg D family. I enjoyed your journey and personally feel like I visited myself, thinking of checking this one off my bucket list, I even stayed Star Class! Safe travels all, be well and until next time...
  18. @Carotthat We were just on the Mariner at capacity the concierge lounge was standing room only by about 1715. If you would like to enjoy this amenity I would suggest going to the lounge a little before 1700 and grab a seat. Then hit the buffet snacks for your little appetizer first. The drink servers come from the bar next door but if you are early our concierge Dudley pointed us out to the server as to where to start the drink orders. When we arrived after 1730 for sure we just left, I believe Mariner is a sister of Adventure so the same set up. Room service for breakfast (you can order from the MDR) was fantastic when we had it, the MDR food was okay (we didn't hate it) check out the menus on your app before the sailing) what we don't enjoy is the noise and the constant franticness of the MDR. We had amazing servers though, even with your own table you are practically in the next parties lap. Enjoy your sailing and congratulations on your Royal Up! We have a loosing streak going 26 bids zero chances to pay more! Oh well, I may be unlucky in RUB but I am blessed in life! Have the absolute best time, but beware you will love the bigger cabin, that's for sure!
  19. Happened to us right before our Mariner sailing. Either I paid it, I did not owe it, it was a canceled voom package(109.00$) or they would have taken it from Sharlas commission. Their math made no sense, I was sailing in a few days and even though I produced my cancelation proof they refused to acknowledge. We ate it because it was a good rate to begin with and I was not allowing them to cut my TA's commission. Another reason we are taking a Royal break after this 30 year anniversary sailing at the end of the month.
  20. Not only this Pins should be given 5 or more specialty dining amenity to enjoy as well. Pin is no small milestone. It seems a lovely thing to do. (No I'm not a pin, no where near it) *depending on length of sailing
  21. Well, I may have over done it! I just finished my 30th duck for our 30th anniversary cruise. 30, wow I was having so much fun where will I hide them all? I was going to leave in the cabin also, do I tell my steward & ask him/her to leave for the next guests? Should I place it in the room safe? The icebox? Dear fellow bloggers, where else can I hide 30 ducks? It's the Harmony & Central Park is always crawling with ducks as well as the boardwalk area, any and all suggestions appreciated. I know no stores & pools, I really want to hide them all for a fun surprise! HELP??
  22. I had @Sharlapay for mine ahead of time for our July sailing. We then tip on top of that as the service is usually outstanding. Last sailing on the Mariner was a bit rough so I left our room steward a cabin so clean he didn't have to practically lift a finger BUT the prepaid gratuity was all I felt was earned. First time EVER we didn't give extra. The snafu in the MDR when we arrived and someone else was dining at our assigned table (specially requested off in a quiet corner it was day 4) We still gave our hard working servers extra gratuity but the head waiter received nothing extra either. Our servers were so upset they kept coming over to our table across the restaurant to make sure we were okay! I felt strongly that their hard work not be reflected in a lost gratuity because someone clearly palmed the head waiter some extra $$ for our table. I never pre-paid gratuities before about 3 sailings ago & now I'm hooked. I like my on board account just being our extras for me it leaves me feeling great stepping off the ship as opposed to getting hit in the face with that last folio.
  23. Its the first thing we do each and every time. Check in at your muster location, once it's complete relax and enjoy! FYI your specific location is listed on your Royal App. Enjoy the Symphony!!
  24. So funny I was thinking the same thing. I explored everything Labadee has to offer and I like you just want the laid back beach experience you describe. That is why I actually would choose Labadee over CoCo Cay every time. Moving forward after experiencing the beach club on Coco Cay especially when there are two ships there, I'll opt for that beach moving forward. As of right now though, not moving forward. Curious to see though how they proceed. I'll be watching.
  25. We visited Labadee on the Allure and the Mariner in May and June 2022. The prices started at 999.00 and up. In May we counted 5 cabanas rented, June just 3 rented. It seems to me that is money that was lost by Royal due to those prices. They sat empty earning 0$ . Made zero sense to me, rent them all at a reasonable rate or rent a very few and lose lots of revenue. Seems a bit foolish when they need $$ right now. I rented a beach cabana in March 2022 for half of the cost of what is being charged now. Most were occupied. Just to confirm these were Bare Foot Beach Cabanas
