  1. And just to jump on the teacher gratitude train when I started in a city police department in 1990 I was one of the only females. Before I cut my teeth so to speak they put me in the school's to teach D.A.R.E. No, I couldn't take it. The administration treated the teachers in a way I could not stomach, it was stifling their love of the kids. Then there was the politics....please the teachers used to tell me " you're so brave" I would tell them NO YOU ARE I couldn't do that job. Such an amazing and mostly thankless calling. Not here, not this family!! Thank you teachers for showing up for our kiddos every day! You are a blessing!!!
  2. @CharmMicah68 and @OCSC Mike here you go! I did my best! What is that Kraken drink??? Let's go! I can't be expected to keep this up without some sugar!!!
  3. Trying to peek in the Captains cabin, lol! Theater guy was nice and the girl costume person was animated and fun. Some small information sheets. Very nice morning, so glad we did it. We skipped breakfast, so much food. Had lunch at #CK I had the chicken soup again and everyone's favorite pasta dish. Cabash crab crusted flounder no sauce. The Kraken drink will be our dessert. Kiddo says she feels fat, just gees. um...whatever!
  4. Thought of @asquared17 when I saw the cases of almond milk, had to snap a photo for her. Just wow that bridge officer was very engaging. Bridge wings have windshield wipers..
  5. Help!? What is the Kraken frozen drink everyone is so crazy about? I want to have one of something special...thank you! Tour was really informative. Holy Hannah I needed to see that. I am humbled at my spoiled self. The staff works so hard below deck. 15 people, half had to return to cabins to get pants. No one reads directions on vacation I was impressed at the care they (the staff) took with us. Galleys, provisions, freezers, storage, recycling, laundry, crew uniforms, corridor 95, engine computer room, bridge, theater behind the stage. Just a perfect tour. 2cd officer was knowledgeable and super kind. The internet is so good.....
  6. Glorious morning, Wonder is redeeming, clearly day one WAS one off. Hiding ducks all morning, super fun. Lots of people slept in so I have some pictures. @OCSC Mike here is the coffee machine. Oh still trying to get 2 laser tag slots. I forgot to request them earlier. Diamond lounge Effy for @Lovetocruise2002 All access tour this morning!
  7. Oh, I forgot to mention. Stateroom host fixed the TV upstairs, it finally gets up back in the ceiling! Yay!! Really nice nightlight in the restroom, I appreciate this. I am having fun playing with the lights and TV from my phone, I'm a child sometimes. The elevators are inadequate for this many people, so much so they are sardine cans which is a bit disturbing. People continue to sqish in, once the doors would not close and no one in the front would get off. Then the perfumes, colognes and hairsprays make the situation uncomfortable. After Voices we chilled in the Diamond Lounge closet on 4 until the crowds dissipated. It helped a bit. Sea day tomorrow and wow a lot of next level intoxication. This is a group bent on a party. House band in music hall not to our liking. I actually enjoyed Voices. My daughter and I are big accapelo fans. I enjoyed it more then I realized, some of the songs touched my heart. It was cheaply done with a back track I believe but I was moved for those few minutes. That's it for now, all access tour tomorrow.
  8. @Ampurp85 Community/Activity/Service or CAS. Kiddo participates in the International Bachelorette Diploma program. She needs to not only volunteer in addition to vigorous studies she needs to participate in new learning opportunities over the summer. I thought this was perfect. So it's actually summer submission that needs to be completed as part of the graduation requirements. If she earns this diploma she will be eligible for Florida's Bright Futures Scholarship which will really be an amazing achievement. Next year senior year, so many emotions....thanks for asking
  9. Found a duck on the boardwalk, hiding mine tomorrow after all access tour. Spoke to loyalty ambassador regarding my block, it should be delivered on Thursday. Here are the official numbers provided by Noorina our suites concierge. 2198 crew 6936 passengers Pinnacles 14, D+ 105, D 266, Emerald 170, Platinum 502, Gold 1556 First time on Royal...drum roll please, 4323 WOW!
  10. The concierges in the Suite Lounge are working hard to make sure we are happy. We were invited to the bridge tomorrow but kiddo and I are doing the all access, she will be writing a report for school on it. So it's a disconnect between the concierge/stateroom hosts and the rest of the crew it seems. Who knows, I just know these two are very kind and work hard, so I'm happy feeling day one was a one off. @Lovetocruise2002 lots of ships models, 69.99 and they appear a bit smaller, im thinking that is why there are so many. Voices at 2130 this is late for our little crew!
  11. Really how does luggage get lost like that? 6800 people that's how. I'm glad we only do carry on! I figured out the huge Star suites, they are entered on 18 of course but not at the end of our hallway, they are around the front off the elevators. @CK great again tonight. Not crowded at all, they were stopping by tables asking people to make additional reservations.
  12. Do do, do do, do do do do, what was that movie, rhymes with straws......@asquared17 where are you?
  13. Day at the Beach Club! Cabash is very happy, he wants to always come here. I said only if the price is right! Wait what, did we change roles? Appetizers, they brought it all. Kiddo had burger and lobster sandwich. We had Ceasars salads (no pics) cabash lobster me grouper. Fresh and fantastic! Fruit for dessert, a little fan to keep away the insects. I'm really thinking things will get better from here. There had to be a catalyst for yesterday... we will never know but something was way off. I'm moving on from it and enjoying the rest of this trip. Sorry my pictures aren't that great.
  14. So far today is beautiful. I am hoping and thinking this was a one off for the Sky experience. Tonight is Voices, will see if the reserved area is just as small. I will most likely sit somewhere else but now I'm curious. We are thankful to be the only ship on the Island today. This day started out a little rainy but is glorious now. Lunch was crazy good, and a nurse shark with her baby swam by us, I'm pretty sure they asked for @asquared17. We skipped breakfast and came out here around 9:30. It did take a hot second to get an elevator this morning, windjammer guests with food were going up to go down. The elevators getting to 18 continue to be a hot mess. I would have walked down but 18 decks would have made me dizzy. All good we took @asquared17 advice and walked right to the beach club. It's a beautiful way to spend the day on the island. Some pics to follow. Today is definitely redeeming from yesterday's strange affair.
  15. One bottle of spring water for the suite and 6 bottles of filtered from C&A. The wine and cheese plate were from a family friend, not a suite amenity. They sent over the card after the amenity.
  16. @twangster yes. Funny you say this...we will be packing earplugs in our luggage from now on, along with our Royal bottle opener!!
  17. @OCSC Mike I truly hope it is just this sailing, maybe people were scolded at a staff meeting or something. #CK I have zero complaints about besides the new location, but say la vee! Still making the most of our sailing, I'm so glad I didn't win the RUB, getting around even this morning is a bit tough. I'm looking for only positives today! I found the 3rd guy!!
  18. @WAAAYTOOO I try not to complain because it looks ugly on me, but I feel like this time around even on day 2 the suite program is being tampered with and not in a good way. You want special, purchase Star class otherwise enjoy your bigger cabin! The sky amenities are diminished on this ship. At the port our embarkation lady posted in our holding area said they only put suites in general pop boarding on the Wonder because there are so many suites. FYI they tried to put us in the general check in long line as well, I knew where to go from previous sailings so I ignored the calls and went to the proper desk....with no line. A subtle but so far very noticeable decline in Sky class for sure. Good news they say it's only this ship. I almost feel an undercurrent of disdain for Suite guests other then Star of course. I am interested in @Lovetocruise2002 experience in a few weeks.
  19. Good morning Coco Cay day. Yay, 6,800 people exiting the ship! Kiddo at the gym already so we will head on out when she gets back. Cabin observations: 15 steps to get upstairs The TV upstairs seems either closer to the bed or bigger. It took a minute to acclimate myself as I felt like I was in the first row in a theater with a huge screen. It doesn't go back into the ceiling, the stateroom representative tried as well, it's down and staying that way. I do like the ability to set the temperature and lights via the app. Of course it does not work with the TV. The bed I believe splits. I can feel the two beds pushed together and bed is hard I'm sure because it's newer. My DCL bed was so much more comfortable. Of course this cabin is better as a whole, no comparison. Chris is the cruise director.
  20. Random stuff! InTense was intense. The all female show really showed off amazing athleticism. We needed reservations and they guarded the entrance. We arrived at 2000 for the show at 2030. The area set aside for us was already full. It was only two rows, it was reserved for Pinnacles, Keys, Sky and D+. We found seating else where. Glad we did, the entire section got wet, the Star class family in the front got a true bath. We were happy that area was full. Very random but all bench seating now, no chairs with cup holders. No biggie just thought I'd mention. * I would have enjoyed music with this show, I think they sold the performers short with the soundtrack they used. Loud, it was loud, my teeth hurt and my ears rang, it just became louder and louder so unnecessary. The volume was slightly uncomfortable for me. Pounding base and drum beat, cashmere by led zeppelin was the only discernable music I could detect. No need to see this one again. Upstairs shower really slippery, must be very careful if you are going to use soap, lol! I want to check again but I think the two Star suites at the end of the hall are entered on 19. Our hallway is quiet down here only one other cabin past us. I'm going to grab pictures of the gorgeous grandiose entrances of them. (The Star cabins) Picture of the bed turned down for kiddo. Tomorrow Coco cay beach club, good night.
  21. Now looking on the bright side of things, with everything going on in the world right now different narratives being spewed and feelings being manipulated to show the worst in humanity, that basketball situation did show me what I always believed to be true, hatred is stoked pointedly. The mix of people playing together on that court were all so different, I even saw one girl. From my perch it looked as everyone was having a great time and respect was all over that court. Now that warmed my heart immensely.
  22. No, not at all. I am not a fan of the placement of CK on this ship. It definitely takes away from an elevated ambiance. Not my favorite, but the food was amazing and so was our server. This is one CK where window seats are not to be desired for sure.
  23. OMG sitting on our balcony, it's loud we can hear the music and basketball court maybe? But, and I mean I'm floored, the smell of Marijuana is well...potent. Anyway, going tonight to the inTense water show for 2030 and then an early turn in. Coco Cay tomorrow. We are skipping breakfast and heading out to the Beach Club. The cabin is turned down and so far so good!
  24. Dinner at #CK was amazing! I only remembered some pictures, so sorry. I'm not a phone at the table person so it was a bit odd for me. I'm a fan of the size if the restaurant space and decor, our server was fantastic. I find myself not really loving the new location of it, you look at basketball court or mini golf, I think it takes away from the ambiance of the space. It was not crowded at all, I was so surprised. The lounge was packed for happy hour but everyone left, we ate at 1745hrs. @WAAAYTOOOTiny table on balcony and the chairs are so comfortable. Pics of the filet, cut to show medium temp, burrata and some snails. All delicious. Desserts were also good but I forgot pictures.
