  1. Navigator OTS Dry Dock has been extended to March 1st because of delays. https://www.travelpulse.com/news/cruise/first-cruise-canceled-for-navigator-of-the-seas.html
  2. Totally agree. Rotation of ship would be more beneficial for all sides...that same model would be desirable for New Orleans as well, for Royal's mid-size ships like the Freedom & Voyager Classes.
  3. Hmmm....I would think they would want it(a new Quantum Class Odyssey OTS) to port out of Ft Lauderdale, versus Galveston, since no ship of that class has ever ported out of Florida & the possible major hole in late 2020 forward, for a 164,000t or greater ship from that port, when Allure emerge from drydock late that year, first of 2021. Either way it would be wonderful news to have a Quantum or Oasis Class ship out of Galveston. I agree with some who have said, the itinerary needs to expand & have some variety...and not just for those possible ships.
  4. http://portofgalveston.com/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=79 Key phrase: "safely accommodate the cruise line’s largest vessels"
  5. Apparently, the City of Galveston & State of Texas has approved funds to expand the Galveston Port. The thought, this will attract RCCL desire to move an Oasis Class ship there, some time after construction on the expansion is complete...approx. 2021. Now, I read a few months ago that Oasis OTS will be porting in Europe when it come out of drydock. Symphony OTS new home is obvious Port of Miami & Harmony OTS will be moving to Port Canaveral in May, I believe. So that leave me to believe, if there is any validity to a possible Oasis Class ship, porting out of Galveston, it would be Allure OTS....probably after it emerge from it's schedule drydock in late 2020. I am fully aware that a 5th Oasis Class ship is set to debut sometime in 2021; but, I can't imagine RCCL would move a newly built ship to Galveston Port over what would soon be an Oasis-less Class Port of Ft. Lauderdale. Is there any concrete information on this possibility?
  6. Maybe it has been discussed...I'm not sure why some of the other Voyager class ships; and really, the Freedom class ships as well, are not getting the newly redesign pool area & Lime/Coconut 2-deck Bar.
  7. That's an unsubstantiated statement...
  8. Thanks NS8VN. Hmmm....that's interesting. That would explain why NCL once had three ships porting from HNL at one time. It would be nice for NCL to have some competition. RCCL needs to flag a ship...it's not going to bankrupt them.
  9. Thanks. Just read the Act. It appears to have been created for the shipping of merchants; although, the Law is being applied to cruising. However, apparently the Trump WH is looking at a permanent Jones Act Waiver. Part of the corporate globalization of the world I suppose. Best case scenario would be to either the U.S. start building vessels again(didn't realize the U.S. don't until now) or repeal the Act, which do seem arcadic now days. Would love to see a Voyager or Freedom class ship there.
  10. Why is NCL the only line allowed to port out of Honolulu & the Hawaiian Island exclusively? The one thing that is frustrating, in order to cruise Hawaii on RCCL, it has to be 10-days+ out of LA, Sea, Van, Syd(transpacific). No 4d, 5d, or 7d cruise out of HNL. Why can't Royal break into that market?
