  1. No, this is our first O class ship, but we have always stayed in the 2br suite on the other classes we have sailed with the kids, so we knew about the bathroom situation already. DH and I have only sailed in a JS without the kids, so we don't really know better.
  2. DS met us at Schooner to get our search the nation's sheet. Smitha tracked us down and signed our sheet. She also told Caleb she would help get signatures at the end of the week if he needed them. #spoiledrotten We went to Park Cafe and each got a roast beef sandwich. DH had two and I also got the portobello pesto sandwich. The roast beef was just me. The portobello was delicious though. DS didn't care for his, so we did run down to Sorrento's so he could get a couple slices of cheese which is always a winner. Since we were there, we ran across the way to Cafe Promenade to get dessert to eat on the balcony. We got back to the room, and fortunately, no new food had been delivered. We also have our first towel animal. We enjoyed our desserts outside and the Sexiest Man Contest was about to start in the Aqua Theater. I ducked back into the cabin to get drinks for everyone and heard the doorbell ringing...yep, snacks and drinks. We all came inside too full to eat again, but we did anyway. We had a few minutes to relax before the bridge tour where DS got a few more signatures. He went back to AO for an hour, and the rest of us are resting and getting ready for formal night. Smitha has really had to shuffle some things around. When they cancelled Mamma Mia, they shifted a couple shows. Tonight is Oceanaria and Finis Henderson.
  3. But I'll take their coffee over Starbucks anyday.
  4. You are going to love it! We are currently on Allure in Star Class. Bring your stretchy pants...ask me how I know!
  5. Partly cloudy and windy today. We definitely feel a bit of rocking. We had Starbucks delivered this morning, but they got DD's order wrong. She's a super taster and can easily pick out the bitter flavors in food. We ordered her a pistachio cream Frappuccino, which is not supposed to have any coffee in it. They brought her the version with espresso so she was done after a sip. I tried it, and thought it was delicious, but her taste buds disagreed. Breakfast at CK - sorry, no photos. I got the frittata, DH got the Baja eggs, kids got eggs and pancakes. DS has gone to Adventure Ocean, and DD is going to the teen club at 10am. The Search for the Nations kick off is at 10:40, and DS wants to participate after I told him about @jbrinkm's experience, so he's meeting us at the Schooner Bar then. I think we'll just do Park Cafe and Sorrento's for lunch. Bridge tour this afternoon.
  6. That's probably more due to the skill of the photographer It was pretty tasty. We don't really have lunches scheduled anywhere. So we may go back again. With the UDP, I would at least give it a shot for lunch one day.
  7. There's a perfectly good explanation! Cake has never been my favorite dessert. As a kid I would take ice cream over cake any day. When I first started my business, I tested about 15 different vanilla cake recipes to find "the one". Repeat for 14 flavors of cake, and you don't really eat cake anymore.
  8. Y'all. I think I have a problem.
  9. The non-smoking side of the big casino was not bad. We tried our luck for a bit in there and then wandered over to the non-smoking casino. It was pretty packed. Machines are spread out quite a bit. No pics yet I'm down $30 ish. We won't talk about DH. We were on the wrong side of the ship, so we went up to deck 8 to cross through central Park. While there we found a glass of wine at Vintages. They were pretty empty - one family was in there besides us. Good news! We got back to the room and there was no new food!
  10. At CK, DS ordered the fruit from the kid's menu, and the rest of us ordered the Crispy Pork Belly. It was OK. I ordered the duck and everyone else ordered the filet mignon - DH and I were sharing. They were both good. I'm the only one who ordered dessert because everyone else was going to have cake back in the room. I don't really like cake so warm honey pear for me. It was pretty good as well. We went back to the room and found... more food! The clouds have parted, and we have a sun for the first time today. DS is at AO and DD is about to go to the teen club. It's the casino for us adults. The smoke free casino, formerly Jazz on Four, is open, so I'll see if I can get decent pictures.
  11. Guess what? More food! We went to the suite lounge about 5pm for a drink before dinner. I had DS do food reconnaissance. There was no way I was going to be able to eat again before dinner.
  12. We are having a great time. Deck 9. We just pushed away and spotted dolphins! Our first time to see them in Galveston.
  13. I had a couple bites of DH's queso, and it was OK. The bacon jalapeno chicken was delicious, and I ate my weight in guac.
  14. DH went back to the cabin and I took the kids to register for Adventure Ocean and check out the teen club. He texted me that luggage and more food were waiting in the room. We passed Wipeout Cafe on the waybto Fuel and looked at the El Loco Fresh items available there. After lunch, the kids were not impressed, but they did spot a soft serve machine, so they each got a cone. Yes, they were too full for dessert 10 minutes ago. Here's the nee food and drinks in the room. Smitha called to tell us Mamma Mia was canceled - some of the cast is sick. She asked if we wanted to see the ice show tonight instead, but the kids are going to AO and want to see that. We told her we'll just go dancing after dinner. Then she asked if we enjoyed everything and if Caleb liked his cake. I told her we didn't have one, and two minutes later there was one at our door. #officiallyspoiled Now DH is taking a quick nap and the kids are playing on the Switch. I think we'll hang out in the room for sailaway as it's still raining. We have dinner in about 2 hours. I think someone is going to have to roll me to CK!
  15. Food in thebroom when we arrived. We went to lunch at Sabor and because it was raining, our muster station had been moved up under the covered portion of the Boardwalk. We took care of that on the way. Service was quite slow, but the food was good. Queso fundido and bacon wrapped jalapeno chicken for appetizers. I had the pan seared branzino (supposed to be snapper but they substituted), DH had the carne asada, DD had cheese quesadillas, and DS had spicy chicken tacos. We were too stuffed for dessert. But we did have our first drink of the cruise - jalapeno cucumber margaritas.
  16. Our cabin was decorated for Caleb's birthday. Entry hall master bed and en suite bath second bedroom and hall bath
  17. Made it! Smitha took us to the suite lounge, and we only had to wait about 10 or 15 minutes for the rooms to be ready. Food in the suite lounge - turkey wrap, three cheese sandwiches, mortadella sandwiches, and veggies. I snagged a coconut ranger cookie. They also had caramel pot de creme, carrot cake, chocolate chip cookies, and cream puffs. The food coma has begun!
  18. There was definitely a delay in disembarkation. I was talking to one of the port staff outside the terminal and I told him the Facebook rumors were flying. He said he couldn't give details but that the arrest was accurate. They didn't let anyone in the building until 10:45, then it was only star class. The Key was let in about 11am and it started raining. We waited in the lobby until 11:10ish and were led up the elevator to the suite waiting area. Smitha said it would probably be another 15 minutes or so before we could board and rooms are not ready. We're the second family in line, and the port staff by the door just told the couple in front of us that a security officer died on the previous sailing. I hope it wasn't related to the arrest.
  19. We're in terminal traffic. Tons of people still disembarking. The Facebook rumors are that someone had to be taken off the ship in handcuffs before anyone else could leave the ship.
  20. Parked and on the shuttle to the terminal.
  21. Ha! I was up by 5am. Showered and it's like the towels were brand new but had never been washed - little bits of fluff were flying all over the room like fuzzy snow. Breakfast was underwhelming but free. And the kids are all about a Texas shaped waffle. We got notification to complete the safety video a few minutes ago. Done. We're leaving the hotel in a few minutes. Forgot a belt for DS so we have to stop at Wally World on the way. There's one about 5 minutes from the hotel. We're going to be really early to the terminal, but that's OK. I'm hoping they have coconut ranger cookies waiting for us.
  22. Thanks for the hair love . I just went back to purple a couple months ago. I was this color for a while pre-covid, and no way was I going to maintain that on my own when everything was shut down. I feel like me in this color.
