Phil the Thrill
Going on Brilliance to celebrate NYE17. Anyone know if they have relaxed the dress code? I know on Celebrity they changed formal night(s) to Evening chic....
DocLC
Pretty much anything goes beyond flip flops, swim trunks, and sleeveless shirts. Shorts are friend upon, but I've seen some in the MDR at dinner. I tend to go with Dockers and a collared shirt and add a tire on formal nights. I've given up the suit or Blazer because of travel restrictions with luggage.
RestingBird
Again, what @DocLC said, really anything goes anymore. I, like him, didn't do the full suit when we had to fly to our port of embarkation. Some dress shirts, a couple ties, done. No offense to anyone, I just don't know what else to call it...but personally, if someone comes in wearing "the preppy college kid look" (some nice shorts, nice collared shirt, and some boat shoes) I'm ok with that. It's the "I don't give a ****" shorts outfits that bother me. DocLC
DocLC
The last time I was on Holland America, they required a coat on formal night; however, I don't know if that's even the case with them. The trend is definitely moving towards casual, at least in the North American market.
