It's a matter of personal preference whether it's more important to you to be done with it quickly and pay more, or save some money and have to deal with more time getting back and forth. If you are staying overnight the night before at a local hotel many of them will also offer free or reduced rates to park your car and leave it until you come back from The Cruise, worth looking into if that suits your specific needs.
