jenjen13
Hey all, We're looking at booking a european/mediterranean cruise out of Southhampton, England. We're wondering what the ships currency will be? (for on-board purchases, playing in the casino, etc.) Is it US or will it be pounds? Alsooo, what itinerary would you recommend? DocLC
Onboard charges will be in USD. There's no need to convert money for onboard and you may/may not want local currency depending on your interests. However, credit cards are readily accepted, just be aware that some charge a foreign transaction fee. I'm fond of the Northern Europe itineraries. The Independence of the Seas and Navigator are doing some Northern Capitals cruises that look intriguing. I've done both Norway/Iceland and the Baltcis and was impressed by both cruises, particularly the fact that the ports were accessible. My fear of the Med is that many of the ports are quite distant from where the ship docks.
