Royal Caribbean has just announced to Next Cruise and Club Royale (internally) that all Casino comps for guests with UK passports cannot include port fees & taxes as the UK deems ‘complimentary’ as false advertising. So UK cruisers will no longer pay for port fees & taxes. Instead, because Royal would need a form of a deposit for the cruise, they will now be charging you for gratuities as mandatory.
This is what a Next Cruise agent told me personally so let’s see what happens soon and if there is a bigger/external press release.
