In a timely fashion the CDC have allowed the cruise lines to choose... Hopefully they now bin this off as testing their passengers/staff this extensively clearly doesn't work so hopefully that will be binned!

Doing some more digging... it appears that we can go to a walk in centre for free in new york and have a result emailed to us? Assume that would be sufficient? Has anyone done this?

JFK... Yes exploring that as an option. Seems very expensive but not sure what other options they are. CVS weirdly won't let anyone from outside the US access their website. Any other places I can get a monitored lateral flow test done?

These aren't NHS tests but private ones you scan but looks like that isn't accepted either. Now the issue is that we are flying into New York 2 days before so won't have time to get tested before we go. Looks like have to literally risk flying across; get a test somewhere in New York and hope we aren't symptomless and a positive test result (or a false positive). Seems like a bit of a farce but not much we can do... Any US recommendations of places to get one done either in Manhattan or Staten Island? I'm hoping they give all this up by September but it doesn't look promising; not sure why the cruise industry is singled out; something the CEO of RC did actually say in a speech recently!

Ah interesting, thanks. So a proctored test somewhere in the UK? There doesn't seem to be any guidance as to who to use; testing is on the way out in the UK so most of the places have shut down!!

Hi, Wondering if anyone can answer this question as Royal Caribbean don't seem to able to despite having emailed them; very confused about the covid testing requirements. Now they have dropped the CDC fit to fly issue for flying into the US; UK citizens still need to show vaccination proof which would be via the NHS app that we have (that is an accepted form according to the FAQ so all good so far). The issue that arises is the testing proof; in the US it has to be via a proctored test (i've seen Abbott testing is the main accepted method). We intend on taking tests the day we leave the UK and will register this via the NHS app which will show official proof of a negative result. These are home tests (but not proctored). I can't seem to find if that is accepted or not and we don't have any other accepted methods in the UK. Does this mean booking a test on the day in the US? Any other UK passengers can help here? We sail end of September so was kind of hoping this would have been abandoned by then giving flying has given it up.
