About Me

I'm a wife of 1, mom of 4, grandmother of 9, owned by one feisty male bi-black Shetland Sheepdog. I'm married to my soulmate for over 30 years.

When not hanging out with family, I'm writing. I'm the author of the Fangs & Halos vampire series. I fell into writing novels because I lost my technical writing job to disability in 2012 and got bored. I looked around for something to do and found that I could do book reviews online. Writing AND getting free books? Sign me up! I have reviewed for Paranormal Romance Guild since 2012 and am currently their secretary. I decided to try my hand at writing a book and when finished, I sent it to my boss at PRG and asked for a beta read (someone to read through it and tell me if it's any good and changes they think are needed). Three weeks later she asked me if I got the review and I panicked, wondering what review I forgot to do. No, she meant the review of MY book. She re-sent it and laughed when I freaked out. Our best reviewer had done the review and it was a 5-star!!!!

Oh wow. So I jumped into action and did the edits and built a cover (I have computer graphics experience) and looked into independent publishing. I built my own publishing company (Heavenly Fangs Books) and published Lilly's Angel. I wasn't planning a series, it was supposed to be a 1-book paranormal vampire romance. But the characters have taken over the story and dragged me into the series. It's not a romance, it's actually an urban fantasy and with book 5 published, it's gotten insane. I blew up a building in book 4, I have Jean Lafitte the pirate in there as a vampire (no one knows where and when he died....) As a historian, I make sure all the history in it and all the locals are correct.

And there's a vampire cat named Baron.

So, that takes up most of the time other than family. I usually do conventions for publicity with the books but we discovered Royal Caribbean and went on our first cruise on Adventure of the Sea in 2022. We're cruising for vacations and I love doing it. We sail out of Galveston right now since we're close. You'll find me onboard easily--I'm the grandmother type in an electric wheelchair with colored hair (blue, purple, pink, teal, I've done them all one time or another) and wandering around with my husband, who resembles Santa on vacation (Hawaiian shirts).

If you see us on a cruise, come say hi, we love meeting people!!
