Highly recommend that you do a mock booking and see what it would cost to pay for an upgrade. Two weeks ago, it was less expensive to do that than place the minimum bid. The bid process is handled by a third party that gets a commission for booking empty cabins. We have also discovered that some cabins are not even available and still taking bids. I guess this third party hopes someone cancels and they can fill it and cash in. Personally, I would not pay or bid more than $100 to upgrade if I was solo. When do you sail? We are on Adventure 02/09.

I leave the 14th from Galveston.  When I looked today about a mock booking, there were no junior suites shown.  That is why I thought of doing the royal up, unless I risk it and see if there is anything open on embarkation day and get it that way.

You will be assigned a cabin and can not pick your location. Sometimes if you are assigned early enough you can call to move to another available cabin in the same category, but you don't always find out with enough time to do so and you are limited to what's available.

Ugh I was hoping I would be able to still have one mid ship since not sire if I'd get sick.  I already have a balcony room, but would anyone advise on bidding for a higher up cabin or stay with the one I have already?

  3. I didn't get a email, just checked the site as soon as I could check in which was dec 31st.  But I also have a question I hope someone can answer about this.  I leave in less than 20 days for my first cruise and wanted to bid on 2 different cabins.  However,  not knowing if I'll get seasick or not, and yes I have the patches, I booked mine in the middle of the ship.  If I bid and win one, do I pick my canin amd location or do they?  I'd like to stay mid ship if ido win, but that is what scares me about bidding on an upgrade basically.  Thanks anyone for the help

Thanks for posting the video. We’re on the Adventure and she pulled into dock in Cozumel this morning  (a scheduled port stop) alongside the Serenade. A few crew members  shed a little light as to exactly why Serenade was here (crew being transferred both ways) but the video host also confirmed what 2 fellow cruisers told us they witnessed today: people  in Hazmat suits  about to  escort or moving themselves to the Serenade. Our ship’s departure was delayed  a few hours due to the transfers. BTW, we’ve been onboard for 2 cruises and yes, the production and ice shows have been canceled for both cruises. However,  the Entertainment Team has still  been  great and upbeat.

I leave next month on Adventure and wanted to see if the Windjammer is still open for dinner and if the breakfast and lunch buffets are very crowded.

I had a JS on Adventure OTS out of Galveston in November. I don't know if there was a special suite line there, the check-in was so fast it would have made no difference. Less than 30 minutes from dropping my car off at the remote parking lot to walking down the Royal Promenade.

Where did you park?  I'm going to be sailing on the same ship in February and want to go ahead get my parking now.

  6. First time cruiser here, so for you vets this may seem like a dumb question...but do I need to make reservations for lunch at WJ?  Or breakfast there?  I'm not sailing until Feb on Adventure but wanted to ask now.  If so, can I make them on the day I board because I don't see where I can make them now?  Thanks for any help.
