I’m confused by this from the website.
- Supervised telehealth tests are not accepted for unvaccinated guests – only for vaccinated guests.
This is the first time I’ve seen ‘unvaccinated’ and not ‘vaccinated’ or ‘up to date’.
I didn’t think unvaccinated could cruise?
-
Im going to assume any test provider UKAS accredited will be fine
-
I’m guessing then it’s any company that I would normally use to fly/travel abroad?
-
I’m struggling to find a list of approved pre-departure test providers for a UK resident disembarking from the UK?
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Got to ask about your name...you a hammer?
Yes, but I’m not a hooligan ( anymore )

It’s been confirmed by two different RC customer service agents. RC consider ‘fully vaccinated’ to be a full course of an approved vaccine ( not boosted). But you are considered ‘up to date’ if you are fully boosted, two doses within 270 days etc etc. They merely use the EMA as a benchmark for being ‘up to date’. As this is only a two night cruise to Paris I’m quite happy to stay on. Thanks for the comments!

Where does it say they only recommend it?
From the web:
For the best European cruise experience, we strongly recommend guests be “up to date” on their COVID-19 vaccination per the European Medicines Agency (EMA).

Thats to be considered up to date? being up to date is only reccomended

- All guests 12 years and older must be fully vaccinated, having received their final dose no less than 14 days prior to sailing. Additionally, for the purpose of these sailings, to be considered up-to-date, guests must have received all doses in their vaccine series and have received their booster if the second vaccine was administered over 270 days (9 months) ago.

I suspect you may be able to board unboostered but some or all of the cruise ports of call on the itinerary may impose their own requirements that can include booster shots.
There may be restrictions or additional requirements to get off the ship at the ports of call. Royal can't override what each country or port you visit may require.
Healthy Shore Excursions
- Fully vaccinated guests and unvaccinated kids can visit ports of call freely. However, additional testing requirements may exist in some countries for guests who are unvaccinated; not considered up to date by EMA standards; or not vaccinated with an EMA-authorized vaccine. It is strongly recommended that guests be up to date and bring their vaccination record while ashore, as businesses in some countries may require proof of vaccination to enter. For sailings visiting France, guests who are from an Orange List country will not be allowed to visit the port, per French government regulations. Learn which countries are on the Orange List. Tours are available at a variety of price points and may be purchased in advance on Cruise Planner or once onboard using the Royal Caribbean App. Requirements for going ashore are subject to change as circumstances evolve, and we will continue to update booked guests of any requirements for their upcoming cruise.
Thats fine, its only two nights I wasnt going to get off!

Im finding them close to useles, one kept changing her mind depending on what I said!!

Yes but they only 'strongly reccomend' this?
-
So Do I read this correctly? I can board 'un boosted'?
-
These are the protocols for my 13th May sailing from Southampton (from the web):
All Royal Caribbean guests age 12 and older must present proof of full COVID-19 vaccination with the final dose administered at least 14 days before sailing.
For the best European cruise experience, we strongly recommend guests be “up to date” on their COVID-19 vaccination per the European Medicines Agency (EMA).
To be considered up to date by all European countries we sail to, your vaccination must meet both of the following requirements.
-
You received your most recent vaccine dose no more than 9 months (270 days) ago. This could have been the final dose in your original vaccine series (or a single dose of Johnson & Johnson), or a booster dose.
-
Your most recent vaccine dose is on this list of EMA-approved vaccines:
Pfizer
Moderna
Johnson & Johnson
AstraZeneca
Nuvaxovid
These standards apply to all guests age 12 and up (or 6 and up for Italy stops). Those who do not meet these standards will require additional testing onboard prior to going ashore in certain ports
To me this looks like I can board 'un boosted' however the customer services people say I cant. Does anybody know????

It doesnt affect me now, I can go as it currently stands, but it would be nice to have the 'final' protocols as advertised, at least 30 days from departure in case of a nasty surprise after paying the remaining balance. It really isnt too much to expect, they seem to have done it for other depature ports?
Why the issue releasing them, the UK seems to be more stable in terms of Covid requirements than anywhere else. They also know the requirements in France where we visit, so whats the delay?
-
Its two nights, im quite happy not to get off. The destination port is irrelevant to me.
This is the misleading statement on the website "Booked guests will be provided with full details at least 30 days prior to their sailing"
-
I have that but its a bit generic, mine says "we may also require that you undergo testing between 72 hours and 48 hours or some other time as we will advise"
I am also particualry interested if they will require 'boosters'.
-
I am booked onto the 2 night cruise on Anthem 13th May from Southampton (using up previous FCC). I still have not recieved the health protocols, my balance is now overdue but am reluctanct to pay in case I am unable to go due to 'protocols'. Gave RC a call and couldnt get an explanation as to why they have not been released, all she was interested in was my outstanding balance!
Why on earth have these not been released yet? no explanation from RC customer services??
-
So here's my problem, I originally booked in 2019 for a cruise in 2020 which I changed to 2021 subsequently cancelled and received cruise credits.
I am now in the position where my children will not be getting vaccinated and will therefore render the credit's un useable. Do I have any right to ask for my children's credits as a cash refund as I booked this way before any covid protocol's?
-
Does anyone think that the requirement for children aged 12+ to be vaxxed will ever be dropped?
Looking to re-book a cruise from the US but my children wont be vaccinated?
-
If summer cruises are at reduced capacity, would having the Key be of any benefit?

As of now, vaccination is optional on all US RCL cruises except for the Alaskan ones.https://www.travelandleisure.com/travel-news/royal-caribbean-makes-vaccines-voluntary-passengers

Im aware of that, but my concern is if its required in the future
-
I have a 13 year old who I wont be getting vaccinated, and I am booked to travel on Allure 22nd August. Currently I am thinking of cancelling and getting a FCC (its the only option apparently) as I don't like the sound of the 'health protocols'. Assuming RCL make cruises only available to vaccinated children forevermore, do you think I am within my rights to ask for a refund? as I will never be able to use the FCC.
-
I wished they would hurry up with that info!
-
Assuming the ship was fully booked how will they offload people? Also if its 50% I may aswell cancel the key!
Ive noticed its not for sale anymore?

Oh its aimed at children, ignore that.
