Thanks, Matt, it’s good advice for the average cruiser but I actually worked 3 years for a cruise travel agency and now it’s a pride thing when I have a problem. Customer service told me they are “ working on this problem.” Meanwhile that’s the only way to get an invoice.

I haven’t been able to access any payment information on the new website except an occasional total due. I just booked a new cruise online and had to call to ask for an itemized statement to be emailed. Is this just me or is it a problem systemwide?

I learned the hard way. Take a supply of medicated back patches like Icy-Hot. They don’t sell them onboard and after a few nights on the beds they might come in handy.

I can’t find the page which lists the rates, cabin number etc. All I get is a total due. Where is it?

Yes you would think so but another site( maybe cruise critic?) said the VAT was built into the price of the excursions because they would be used on land like in restaurants etc at port.

I'm getting confusing information from various sites including a phone call to RCCL. I’m booked on a 12 night Mediterranean cruise. I understand that onboard purchases including food and drink, spa services and retail products will have the VAT added to the stated price. Does this apply to excursions purchased onboard too. The RCCL agent would only say” we recommend you purchase the excursions before you depart because the price might increase onboard. “ What experience have you had with VAT and excursions?
