Noticed a standard tip breakdown taped to the charge machine at the front desk, so publishing here with a little analysis

A stateroom attendant with 8 rooms can expect to make in standard tips $20,732 standard and $36,208 suite per year.

A waiter / assistant waiter with 24 guests can expect to make in standard tips $52,122 or $26,061 each.

Should one provide additional tips beyond the standard?

That is one's preference, but for us, we always give extra:

For our 17 day cruise, the suite stateroom attendant would get 210.80.  We gave her an extra $200 - $100 on the first day (wink-wink) and $100 half way through.  That's about $24 per day - well worth it - having been a janitor, we want to treat well the people cleaning our room! (this is for 2 people in room)

For our 17 day cruise, the waiter / assistant waiter received $170 / $150 respectively. We're not sure if the $202.30 is only for them, but assume it covers others in the dining room too.  Assuming the waiter gets $101.15 out of standard, plus our $170 = $271.15 or $7.98 per day.  The assistant waiter gets $101.15 out of standard, plus our $150 = $251.15 or $7.39 per day. (this is for 2 people in room)

Being Diamond Plus, we each get 5 drinks free per day. We always find a friendly bar tender on the first day and drop a $20 on the first order.  Then each subsequent order we generally tip $5 cash each time.  Always gets us good service.

Hope this helps others...

Don't judge...
