jserpa
Just found out less than 3 weeks ahead that our 4 night Bahamas cruise (just 55 hrs of cruising, excl sleeping) is starting checkin 7 hours late and departing at least 4.5 hrs late, losing over 8% of our cruise time, due to "routine maintenance". Since we'll be missing a meal I requested at least a $40 refund for at least the meal the two of us will miss, not to mention that we are flying to FL the day before now, and getting a hotel, when we would not have had to. Was told by RCCL, after being on the phone for an hour, sorry but no compensation. Stuck at the port for 5 hours with luggage now when dropped off by hotel shuttle. New to cruising. Is this the usual? If so, not off to a good start.
DocLC
This is not usual and I wouldn't be surprised if an onboard credit appeared on your stateroom account as a result.
jserpa
Thanks. Hope springs eternal.
jserpa
A big thanks to RCCL for just delaying departure, as needed for maint, and not the check-in and boarding. Makes all the difference :)
UkuleleCruiser
When we cruised over New Years on Liberty, we were fogged in the first day and boarding was delayed. They issued a $20 credit per person for a meal on shore.
