So My Wife and I are going to set sail in November. We had a change in itinerary that put us back in to Puerto Rico. The last time we went to Puerto Rico was in 2015 and while we were there we were robbed, over $1200 worth of camera equipment was stolen along with the memory cards that had pictures of my mother and father right before we left for the cruise. Fast forward to 2016, we had set a new sailing with Royal Caribbean to celebrate our five year anniversary and four days before we were set to depart, my mother passed away. Then three months later my father passed away. We have the insurance and we decided to set a new cruise up for this year. Lo and behold, our itinerary change put us back in to Puerto Rico, I will not be getting off the ship. And the more I think about it, the memory cards and that camera bag were worth more than anything else. Now hurricane Irma hit and destroyed Saint Maarten, that was also one of the stops on our cruise. I did hurricane cleanup and relief for years. I stopped doing it because what I saw every time I go to a new area to help get everything cleaned up, it ate at me, we will not be getting off the ship at Saint Maarten. So now we are down to one port, the Bahamas, that we will be getting off the ship. We do not go on cruises for the activities on the ships, we go on cruises to visit new places. So I call up to ask about some sort of compensation because we cannot change our booking dates because we have a family member flying in to watch our son who we are adopting and the adoption process has not been completed so we can not take him out of the country. I’ve had to explain this six times to six different people to finally get a answer that Royal Caribbean executives have said no compensation shall be granted for the itinerary change. Is there a number or someone I can talk to about this? Or are we stuck on the seven day cruise that we are only going to be getting off the ship that one port.
