Oh, I didn’t know this. Was it the hairdryer or adapter they confiscated? The European adapter is a single plug converter, not a power strip. I took an EU adapter and hairdryer on our last cruise, should I not have?

We really enjoyed the Eurostars Grand Marina Hotel. A short drive to the port, taxis right outside, easy 10 min walk to Las Ramblas. Lovely rooms and friendly staff. Would stay again if cruising from Barcelona.
