Now through September 30, Royal Caribbean is offering 30% off the Barbie Premium Experience package on Royal Caribbean cruises departing from November 22 through December 31, 2013.

The Barbie Experience is an exclusive partnership between Royal Caribbean and Mattel.  The special stateroom overlay and onboard experience that is centered around Mattel's Barbie doll, offers girls 4 to 11 a Barbie themed cruise with decorations, parties, fashion shows, movies, interactive events and more.

The 30% off sale is valid on existing cruise bookings as well as new cruise bookings.  Guests may not cancel a current Barbie Premium Experience booking and rebook to receive the Offer. Offer is not available on Majesty of the Seas or Enchantment of the Seas 3/4-Night Bahamas sailings.

Royal Caribbean adds Barbie Experience to Allure of the Seas

Royal Caribbean rolled out the Barbie Experience to another cruise ship, this time to Allure of the Seas.

The Barbie theme adds Barbie decorations to cabin doors, along with a special plaque welcoming passengers onboard.  Inside the cabin, Barbie giveaways adorn the inside of the cabin and include  fluffy blankets, tote bags, dolls and even a Barbie pillow case.

Passengers are also given a special Barbie guest lanyard and a pink tote bag, with invitations to Barbie’s exclusive Tiara and Teacups party, with cupcakes, pink lemonade and a lesson in tea-time etiquette, with Elira.

During the week-long cruise, there are other events onboard the ship such as how to become a fashion designer and take part in a Barbie dance class that culminates in a glittering red carpet fashion show.

Royal Caribbean rolls out Barbie Experience to half of its cruise ships

Royal Caribbean indicated today that half of its cruise ships will now offer the new "Barbie Experience" premium package that it has developed with Mattel's Barbie doll brand.

Royal Caribbean expects the entire fleet of ships to receive the Barbie Experience by the end of May 2013.  Monarch of the Seas will not receive the addition, since it is scheduled to be transferred out of the fleet later this year.

The Barbie Experience costs $349 per child and is available on sailings of five nights or longer.  It was introduced on Oasis and Allure of the Seas in January.

Radiance and Rhapsody of the Seas will be the last two ships to get the package.

Royal Caribbean adds Barbie Experience to its cruise ships

Royal Caribbean is adding what it calls the "Barbie Experience" to target kids ages four to eleven years old that will offer Barbie-themed movie nights, story times and other activities at its children's program.

Girls can sleep in Barbie themed cabins, design Barbie outfits,  go to tea and participate in a fashion show at the end of the cruise.  Royal Caribbean is offering the "Barbie Premium Experience" that will cost $349-per-person.

The premium experience will offer girls a dance class, fashion show and opportunity to take home a cruise ship themed Barbie doll with outfits.

The Barbie Experience is targeted at little girls although Royal Caribbean does expect some adult fans to be interested as well.

Royal Caribbean vice president of sales Vicki Freed commented that the line had tested the Barbie Experience with stellar results, "Barbie was a smash success in a test last fall on the Freedom of the Seas. When you think about all the families we carry, this is a really great fit."

The new offering will become available across Royal Caribbean's fleet between January and March of 2013.  Royal Caribbean will start taking bookings in October 2012.

Royal Caribbean also kicked off the "Win a Barbie Cruise Vacation" sweepstakes online.
